Itinerary of your trip 2 Days Lake Lake Naivasha Tour

  • Day 1 Day 1: Nairobi To Lake Naivasha

Day 1: Nairobi To Lake Naivasha

Depart from your hotel early in the morning for Lake Naivasha with a stop at the Great Rift Valley view point for photography. Drive to Lake Naivasha arriving at your lodge in time for lunch and afternoon relaxation. Later in the afternoon, you are scheduled for boat riding and visit to Crescent Island. A speed boat is waiting for you for ferrying to the island. There are thousands of Birds to watch, animal grazing by the banks of the lake, and snoring heads of huge hippopotamus. The pilot is knowledgeable and acting as your guide in the lake. After 30 minutes of ride, you arrive at the island and welcomed by the friendly guides. They will guide you through the island and show you animals and vegetation. From the top of the hill there is a 360 degree view across the Lake from Longonot to Hellโ€™s Gate to the Mau Escarpement to Eburu and onto the Aberdares. There are more animals per acre than any other Kenyan Park, hence many film companies have been to the Island to film the herds of Wildebeest, Waterbuck, Zebra and Gazelle. The park is not fenced to allow the wildlife on the mainland to come in as they lose their habitat to development and the ever increasing population. Hippo graze all over us at night then sleep under the acacia or rest in the water by day. The giraffe who were born on the Island return to give birth; sometimes you see three generations at a time. Hyena come to hunt at night but are not resident on the island, the many python who do live here can be seen occasionally with a kill. Groups of Buffalo come and go but they are always monitored. After 4 hours in the island, the boat will come to pick you to the main land and to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Our vehicle shall follow you closely from behind as you ride and enjoy the great views of vegetation and grazing animals. There is also an optional activity for rock climbing, only suitable for energetically fit clients. Gorges tour is also available during dry seasons when there is no risk of flooding.
