      (Wednesday, Friday, Sunday) Welcome at the airport by a representative of our local agency, transfer to Saint Gilles. The afternoon is at your disposal at the hotel. Relax by the pool or enjoy the beach. One night at the Hotel Le Nautile (middle class, national category: 3 stars). Approx. 55 km/approx. 1 hour (dinner).

  • Day 2 Day 2: Saint Gilles Les Bains - Cilaos

      Day 2: Saint Gilles Les Bains - Cilaos

      (Thursday, Saturday, Monday) In the early morning, you will drive to the Piton Maido viewpoint (2,000 m), which offers a breathtaking view over the Cirque de Mafate, which can only be reached on foot or by helicopter. On the way back, you will stop at a geranium distillery, which produced the world’s first geranium oil at the time, and learn about the different essences. The journey continues on a spectacular road into the valley of Cilaos, the heart of the island. Here you will spend one night in the Hotel Le Vieux Cep (middle class, national category: 3 stars). Approx. 140 km/approx. 3.5 hours (breakfast, dinner).

      Day 3: Cilaos - Entre Deux

      (Friday, Sunday, Tuesday) Enjoy the breathtaking mountain scenery with the highest mountains on the island. A short walk to "La Roche Merveilleuse" gives you a great view of the valley and the village of Cilaos. A picturesque road takes you to Ilet a Cordes, a remote mountain village surrounded by lentil fields. After returning, you have time to explore Cilaos with its thermal springs and small shops. The village is known for its beautiful embroidery work. Watch the women who are trained in this art at work or buy a small piece of work. Optionally, you have the opportunity to take part in a wine tasting of "Cilaos wine". Continue to Entre Deux. One night in the Hotel Le Dimitile (upper middle class, national category: 4 stars).       (Saturday, Monday, Wednesday) After breakfast, take a short city tour in Saint Pierre. Continue along the "Reunion Garden Route", take in the wild landscapes with old lava roads and volcanic coastline. Make a stop at "Cap Mechant", where you will see impressive waves. Visit the famous botanical garden "Jardin des Parfums et des Epices". The route continues through the fascinating lava landscape. In the afternoon, drive to La Plaine des Cafres. One night at the L’Ecrin Hotel (functional, national category: 2 stars). Approx. 110 km/approx. 3 hours (breakfast, dinner).

  • Day 5 Day 5: Plaine Des Cafres - Hell-Bourg

      Day 5: Plaine Des Cafres - Hell-Bourg

      (Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday) Early in the morning after breakfast, you set off for the still active volcano "Piton de la Fournaise". From the mountain peak "Le Nez de Boeuf", you can enjoy indescribable views such as the plateau "Plaine des Sables", which is reminiscent of a fascinating lunar landscape, or the mountain pass "Pas de Bellecombe". We recommend the one-hour walk to the small crater "Formica Leo" (without a guide, at your own risk) within the volcano. In the afternoon, head back downhill towards the east coast, into the "Cirque de Salazie" basin, which is known for its many waterfalls surrounded by banana plantations. You reach Hell-Bourg in the evening. The very original village with its beautiful old houses resembles an open-air museum of Creole architecture. You spend one night at the Hotel Jardin d’Heva (functional, national category: 2 stars). Approx. 120 km/approx. 4 hours (breakfast, dinner).

      (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) After breakfast, visit the enchanting village of Hell-Bourg with its charming houses and lush flower garden, known as one of the "prettiest villages in France". Return to Saint Denis to the airport and start of your connecting stay. Approx. 55 km/approx. 1 hour (breakfast).
