Fly to Uyuni and visit Salt Flats (L/D)At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from the hotel in La Paz and transfer to the airport to catch your flight to Uyuni. Today, we depart for our first foray onto the Uyuni Salt Flats. We'll be picked up from the airport and the journey begins with a short visit to the famed (and rusting) train cemetery, full of rusting train cars that were once used to transport minerals and people to and from Uyuni. We then continue to the salt-harvesting village of Colchani to see how the locals produce salt. After this (finally!) we will reach the great Uyuni Salt Flats, visiting the bizarre Incahuasi Island that is covered in enormous cacti and from where we get an amazing view of the flats. We will enjoy a beautiful sunset in the middle of the endless expanse of glittering salt and then return to Colchani to spend the night in a Salt Lodge!Today, you'll fly to Uyuni. You'll then visit the famous train cemetery and the salt-harvesting village of Colchani. Next are the amazing Uyuni Salt Flats and bizzare Incahuasi Island.
