Itinerary of your trip 3 Day Uganda Gorilla Trek Budget Safari Via Kigali

  • Day 1 Transfer From Kigali To Bwindi National Park
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Transfer From Kigali To Bwindi National Park

      Travel by road from Kigali to Bwindi National Park. Our representative will pick you up in Kigali (between 7:00 am & 11:00 am Kigali time) and drive to Bwindi National Park. The drive to Uganda will go through Rwandaโ€™s northern town of Ruhengeri (also known as Musanze). You will then cross over into Uganda via the Cyanika or Katuna border post. The trip continues through the nearby Kisoro or Kabale town and finally to Bwindi National Park. The journey from Kigali to Bwindi National Park will take approximately 5 hrs. Arriving at Bwindi National Park in the early afternoon will allow you to do optional activities such as canoeing at Lake Mutanda, visiting the Batwa community, and the organic coffee-making experience.

      Budget accommodation option: Karungi Camp at the Rushaga gate of Bwindi National Park.

  • Day 2 Gorilla Trekking Adventure At Bwindi National Park

      Gorilla Trekking Adventure At Bwindi National Park

      You will head to the Bwindi National Park gate immediately after breakfast to get a briefing about the gorilla trek. The national park guide will present the basics of what to expect during the gorilla trek. The national guide will assign the gorilla trekking group during the pre-trekking briefing. Other visitors will likely join you. The gorilla trek can take a few hours, depending on how far the gorillas are inside the forest. After the gorilla trek, return to the lodge for a rest. There is an option to do the Batwa Cultural Tour in the afternoon.

      Budget accommodation option: Karungi Camp at the Rushaga gate of Bwindi National Park.

  • Day 3 Transfer From Bwindi National Park To Kigali
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Transfer From Bwindi National Park To Kigali

      This will be the final day of the 3-day gorilla tour. The day will start with breakfast and a drive from Bwindi National Park back to Kigali. The drive from Bwindi National Park to Kigali City takes about 5 hours. If interested and time permitting, you can visit Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and trek golden monkeys (permit costs USD100) before driving to Kigali. Other optional activities for the day include canoeing at Lake Mutanda and the coffee-making experience. Note that the earliest expected time to reach Kigali on Day 3 in Kigali is 11:00 am Rwanda time. Note that the Uganda time zone (East African Time) is one hour ahead of the Rwanda time zone (Central African Time).
