Meals

3 Dinners are included 3 Breakfasts are included. Lunch is not included: Why is lunches not included? At Sky Road Trail we believe in supporting our local communities as we travel through them. Buying our lunch at these stops helps the local commerse and tourism in these regions which is a large part of the communities revenue. Stopping for lunch also allows us to stop, immerse and surround ourselves in these environments. It gives us a chance to talk to the locals and other travellers and will be a large part of our tour dynamics every day. You are welcome to bring along a packed dry lunch. You should bring along or allow purchases for snacks and drinks. Spring Water is included for the duration of your tour. Note: There are no shops along the way. Sometimes the lodge is open and they have a small cash only bar and snack station. But sometimes it is closed. There will be a cafeteria stop at Jenolan Caves which will make a good stop for lunch on Day 2. You should buy or bring supplies for lunch for day 3 & 4 and snacks. Dietary requirements are catered for. Please advise.

Don't want to hike - come along for a Sightseeing trip Spend longer at Jenolan Caves. Explore Oberon Explore Megalong Valley = sightseeing and wineries. Lookouts and exploration of Cox's Bridge & River. Visit the Three Sisters Blue Mountains (optional activities incur costs) Blue Mountains Information Centre. Let us show you our favourite quirky cafe in Katoomba May even be time for a distillery tour.

Transport

Transport is provided from the Katoomba Train Station to our Hotel accommodation. Transport is provided to Jenolan Caves Transport is provided from Black Range to Hotel Transport is provided from Explorers Tree to Katoomba Train Station or your hotel. The main vehicle will transport your luggage during the day. You will only need a daypack. You must make your way to and from Katoomba for arrival and departure. We recommend the train line in and out of Sydney and runs from the Airport direct to Katoomba. You can drive your car and leave it in Katoomba at your own risk.

Accommodation

Bunkhouse accommodation in our shared dorm house. Accommodation has a warm fire place and cosy setting for keeping out the winter chill. It's glorious in this part of the world in Winter. Crisp cool nights perfect for communing around the fire and hearty warm meals and generally glorious cool but sunny and brillant blue days for walking

There is no insurance included on this trip. However we do recommend obtaining travel insurance for any travel adventures.

  • Day 1 Katoomba To Megalong Valley

      Katoomba To Megalong Valley

      Friday Afternoon/Night Pick up from Katoomba Station. Transfers at 16:30pm and 19:00pm. We'll transport you to our accommodation. After everyone's checked in to their shared rooms we'll enjoy a pizza ?dinner "get to know you" night by the fire overlooking the Megalong valley.

      Hike Length: 10.8km 08:00am - Full Hot and Cold Breakfast Provided 09:00 - Jenolan Caves exploration morning 12:00 - lunch at Jenolan (own expense) 13:00pm - Hike commences 15:30pm - pick up from Day 1 Hike end designation and transport back to accommodation. 16:00pm to 18:00pm - free time 18:00pm - Hot Dinner Provided 19:00pm -Night Activities

  • Day 3 Middle Leg Of Six-Foot Track - Black Range To Eco Lodge
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Hike length - 18.2 km 07:00am - Hot and Cold Breakfast Provided 08:00am - Transport to Hike start location - end of day 1 hike location. 09:00am - Hike - commences 10:30am - Morning Tea stop 12:30am - Lunch at Alum Creek Campground - Pit Toilet stop. ย Please pack your lunch. 13:00pm - Hike resumes 16.00pm - Arrive at 6ft Lodge share accommodation (afternoon tea and drinks) or an afternoon swim in Cox's River (its awesome) if you can brave the cold waters (many do). 18:00pm - Hot Dinner Provided 19:00pm - Night Activities and Chat around the fire.
