      Our one-day cultural tour of Kathmandu offers an immersive experience into Nepalโ€™s rich heritage. This tour not only highlights the vibrant culture of the Nepalese people but also takes you on a journey through their architectural marvels. Youโ€™ll visit four key sites: Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Bauddhanath Stupa, and Swayambhunath Temple, each holding significant religious and cultural importance.


      After breakfast, we begin our exploration of these UNESCO World Heritage Sites within the Kathmandu District:


      Kathmandu Durbar Square: This historic square exemplifies Nepalese art and architecture from the Malla dynasty, which ruled from the 12th to 18th centuries.


      Swayambhunath Temple: Also known as the Monkey Temple, this site features a unique mix of Hindu and Buddhist shrines and stupas. Its nickname comes from the large monkey population that inhabits the area.


      Pashupatinath Temple: Located on the banks of the Bagmati River, this major temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is surrounded by numerous smaller temples, creating a sacred and serene atmosphere.


      Bauddhanath Stupa: One of the largest stupas in South Asia, Bauddhanath is situated along the ancient trade route to Tibet. The stupa, built in Nepali Buddhist style, is surrounded by over fifty Tibetan monasteries established by Tibetan merchants and refugees, offering a glimpse into both Nepalese and Tibetan artistic traditions.


      This tour provides a deep appreciation for the spectacular art and architecture of ancient Nepal and its cultural connections with Tibet.
