  • Day 1 Day 1: Johannesburg- Kruger National Park

      Day 1: Johannesburg- Kruger National Park

      We depart Johannesburg as we make our way to the Greater Kruger National Park where our Safari adventure begins. After travelling through the Highveld farmlands we descend the Drakensberg Escarpment and into the Lowveld, home to some of the most pristine Private Game Reserves in South Africa and the world renowned Kruger National Park. We arrive at Thornhill Safari Lodge in time for a delicious lunch. After some relaxation time, we venture out on a late afternoon/evening Big Five game drive in open 4ร—4 Safari vehicles in one of the neighbouring Private Reserves. We take a break for Sundowner drinks and snacks at one of the waterholes en route enjoying the sights, sounds and smells of the African Bushveld before continuing our game drive into the night. Located within the Guernsey Private Nature Reserve and forming part of the Greater Kruger Park ecosystem, Thornhill offers comfortable accommodation in authentic thatched roof chalets. Vibrant fabrics and local hardwood furniture all create that rustic yet stylish bush atmosphere. Sit back and relax in our Bar/Lounge area or sip cocktails around the swimming pool and treetop viewing deck overlooking the Drakensberg Mountain Range and never ending wilderness. Activity : Afternoon Game Drive Meals. Lunch & Dinner Useful Information Thornhill Safari Lodge is a 45 minute drive to Kruger National Parkโ€™s Orpen Gate. Big 5 Game Drives on this itinerary are conducted in the Kruger National Park and neighbouring Private Game Reserves. Please note that if Thornhill is full you will be accommodated in a similar lodge within the Greater Kruger Park region.

      Day 2: Kruger National Park

      An early rise as you are greeted by your guide and enjoy coffee and rusks before embarking on a day of exploration in the celebrated Kruger National park. The Park offers an unrivalled wildlife experience that ranks with the best not only in Africa, but around the world. Its rich history dates back to 1898, and its goal has always been to protect the wildlife of the South African Lowveld. Today, this national treasure offers two million hectares of unspoiled African bushveld. Truly the flagship of the South African National Parks, Kruger remains home to an impressive number of species ranging from 336 trees, 49 fish, 34 amphibians, 114 reptiles, 517 birds and 146 mammals. Look forward to a safari experience that unfolds from the moment you enter the Kruger Park, and explore the best game drive routes the Park has to offer. Our game drive takes us through varied topography with an amazing variety of wildlife, birds, plants and trees. We break at a remote picnic site to enjoy our packed breakfast before continuing our Safari discovering the unspoilt, untamed wilderness that makes Kruger Park so special. Our journey continues as we stop off at the various viewpoints and waterholes whilst game viewing and bird watching along the way.We return to the comforts of Thornhill Safari Lodge, and enjoy yet another taste of traditional African cuisine before retiring to the peaceful sounds of the African night.   • Day 3 Day 3: Panorama Route Tour
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 3: Panorama Route Tour

      Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before departing on the Panorama Route tour.We enjoy the day exploring the sights and sounds along the Drakensberg Escarpmentโ€™s Panoramic Route including the Blyde River Canyon, Three Rondawels, Gods Window and a few quaint little villages along the way. We then return to Thornhill late in the afternoon and arrive just in time to freshen up before enjoying some delicious bushveld cooking. Meals Included Breakfast & Dinner
