      Your Island peak climbing tour starts with an early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla about 30 minutes and begins your trek to Phakding. The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River and passes through small villages and lush forests.

      The trail today goes through upstream along the riverbank to the junction of Bhote Koshi River and Dudh Koshi River. We will have to cross a Hilary bridge. Then we will ascend for Namche Bazaar. On the way, it gives a chance us incredible photographic opportunities as the peaks of Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8511m), Nuptse (7879m), Arna Dablam (6856m) and Taweche (6542m) come into view for the first time of the trip.

  • Day 3 Acclimatize At Namche Bazaar (3440M)

      Acclimatize At Namche Bazaar (3440M)

      We rest this day at Namche Bazaar to acclimatize to the new altitude, which is an ideal place to spend a rest day before heading off towards higher elevation. Instead of resting in your lodge, it is recommended that you stay active and mobile during the acclimatization day. A few hundred feet vertical treks during the day will help you properly acclimatize. Or rather you can spend the day exploring Namche Bazaar. The place is center of the Everest region and has plenty of lodges, tea shops, souvenir shops, ATMs, money exchangers, Internet cafes, government offices, restaurants, bakeries, etc. You can visit Visitor Center near the headquarter of the Sagarmatha National Park where you can observe an assortment of things allied to the first Everest ascenders, Sherpa culture and learn about the various flora and fauna of the Sagarmatha National Park. Surrounded by the snowy peaks of Kongde and Thamserku and the sacred peak Khumbila, Khumjung hosts a well-known monastery that houses a yeti scalp. You can also visit Hillary School at Khumjung.

      After breakfast, we will leave for Tengboche. The trial goes ups and downs offering us the splendid view of snowy caps like Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, and Mt. Ama Dablam. The trekking today is moderate and not difficult. The views just will keep getting better as we move ahead. You can get to encounter animals, visit some monasteries and go through some beautiful village on the way to Tengboche. There is a possible view of wildlife including musk deer, a herd of Himalayan Thar and colorful pheasants. Going through forest and river, we will be at Tengboche. We then stay overnight at a guest house.

      Today is a more relaxed day with a relatively easy trek to Dingboche โ€“ except for the last part where we have to climb a steep hill which acts as a reminder that trekking at higher altitudes is more physically draining. We will initially pass through the villages of Somare (4010m) and Orsho. Further along the trail we meet a fork and take the left trail that heads to Pheriche Village, then cross a bridge before that steep climb to Dingboche Village (4410m) which has several suitable lodges.

      The trek from Dingboche to Chhukung is a short yet spectacular journey in the Everest region of Nepal. As you ascend, the trail unveils breathtaking views of Ama Dablam and surrounding peaks, creating a stunning backdrop. Chhukung, a small village nestled in the Imja Valley, provides a serene atmosphere with its mountainous surroundings, making it a popular stop for trekkers. The trek is marked by alpine landscapes, glacial moraines, and a sense of tranquility that enhances the overall Himalayan experience.

      The rest day at Chhukung during Island Peak climbing offers a crucial acclimatization break. Surrounded by towering peaks, trekkers prepare for the challenging ascent of Island Peak, adjusting to the high altitude. The day includes optional short hikes to enhance acclimatization, providing both physical and mental preparation for the rewarding climb ahead.

  • Day 8 Trek To Island Peak Base Camp (5,200M) โ€“ 4 Hours Trek

      After a pleasant overnight and time at Chukkung morning walk heading to a place called Parsya Gyab within Island Peak Base Camp, as trek leads with steep climb to cross over the moraine of Lhotse glacier and follow a stream to a snout of Imja glacier, to reach a dry lake between Lhotse and Imja glaciers at base camp around Pareshaya Gyab area.

      Afternoon time to relax for short walks and practice climb, as well checking route of our climb for early next morning.

  • Day 9 Summit Island Peak (6,183M) And Return To Chhukung (4735M) โ€“ 10-11 Hours Climbing And Trekking

      After enough exercise and practice with acclimatization day at base camp, where our adventure starts at early morning as climb leads across glacier where one needs to be careful in avoiding crevasses, as climb takes you straight north over snow covered scree in-between a glacier to the top ridge.


      A tour climb over rocks and icefall section, a steep snow and ice ramp takes you at about 100 meters (300ft) to the summit, on reaching at the top where our adventure completes for an hour before heading descend.

      Here enjoy views after an experience of a life time after a great success on top Island Peak facing views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Amadablam and Makalu 8,463 includes Chamlang and Baruntse peaks.

      After a great and exciting climb make descend on the same route to Chhukung.

      With ever exciting moment and adventure on Island Peak climb, reach back to Dingboche for onwards journey back to Lukla after having a successful time, a nice walk of the day brings you at Dingboche for short rest and continue downhill to Pangboche with last hour climb back into tree lines to reach at scenic Tengboche Monastery for overnight stop.

      The rocky path down is steep and it is advised to be cautious crossing this rocky landscape. We eventually cross the suspension bridges over the rapid flowing Dudh Koshi and its tributaries, where the path becomes flatter and easier to negotiate. After our arrival in Lukla we can stretch our aching legs and blissfully recall the exhilarating experiences of the last few weeks.

      Early morning, we leave Tenzing Hillary airport boarding a scenic 35-minute flight back to Kathmandu. Flying over the clouds and enjoying the mesmerizing view of the Khumbu region, we will be carrying an unforgettable and successful journey to the Island peak. Upon arrival, your guide will transfer you to the hotel where a good rest after a long trek will be crucial. In the evening, we have a farewell dinner together.
