  • Day 1 Day 1: Arrival Day In Kathmandu

      Day 1: Arrival Day In Kathmandu

      This is the first day of the Everest Base Camp Trek. You arrive to Kathmandu today. We will assist you to drive you to hotel after welcoming you at the Kathmandu airport arrival hall. We will have a trip briefing meeting today if your arrival is early in the day or if your arrival is late, we will meet tomorrow morning for the same. 

  • Day 2 Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour

      Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour

      It is a preparation and acclimatization day in Kathmandu before we set off for the trekking adventure. We will go for a sightseeing tour of cultural heritage monuments in Kathmandu valley. The heritage tour in Kathmandu is a rich cultural, historical and spiritual immersion that takes us right back to the ancient time when Kathmandu valley used to be a lake. 

      We visit Swoyambhunath aka monkey temple, Patan Durbar Square โ€“ a medieval palace square, Pashupatinath to see Hindu cremation on the bank of River Bagmati, and finally Boudhanath โ€“ the largest Buddhist stupa.

      We will return back to hotel leaving ample time to go for any last minute preparation of the big trekking adventure to the Everest Base Camp.

      The mountain adventure starts today with an early morning flight to Lukla. Lukla is the main gateway to all Everest region trekking adventures. This is a short and beautiful flight in a small plane that takes us to the Everest region. Once we land in Lukla airstrip, considered one of the most adventurous airports in the world, we prepare for the day and start trekking towards Phakding as our overnight destination for the day. 

      The very first day of trekking introduces us with the charm of mountains and makes us curious about what is there to unfold. Phakding lies beautifully on the bank of Dudh Koshi River and we make it there in about 4 hours from Lukla. 

  • Day 4 Day 4: Trek To Namche (3,440M)

      Day 4: Trek To Namche (3,440M)

      Itโ€™s the day to enter Sagarmatha National Park. Sagarmatha is the Nepali name for Mt. Everest. We reach Monjo and check into the national park and continue the journey towards Namche as our overnight destination. We will have to walk across several suspension bridges as we proceed forward to Namche. 

      Namche Bazar is the most happening place in the region with bars, restaurants, ATM machine, shops and internet cafes. We will reach Namche after walking for about 6 hours along the rugged mountain track surrounded by wonderful landscapes.

  • Day 5 Day 5: Acclimatization Day

      Day 5: Acclimatization Day

      We spend an extra night here at Namche today to acclimatize. But we will have a busy day exploring the surroundings. We can hike to Khumjung village and explore the Sherpa cultural wonders of the village. We will have enough time to explore Namche bazar later in the afternoon. The hiking trip to the higher elevation helps us adjust with the climate in increasing altitude. We stay overnight at Namche. 

  • Day 6 Day 6: Trek To Tengboche (3,860M)

      Another day of trekking through mountain trail puts us on the way to the Monastic village of Tengboche. A small and quaint village with a beautiful monastery, Tengboche offers a wonderful view of the mountains. We will visit the monastery and try to feel the spiritual air present in there. The spirituality in the air of mountains will keep us motivated to go further higher towards the base camp.

  • Day 7 Day 7: Trek To Pheriche (4,371M)

      We will trek to Pheriche today via Pangboche village. We will be above 4,000 meters today at an already amazing elevation of 4,371 meters above sea level. The trek to Pheriche is full of natural and cultural wonders that we will come across along the trail. We will stop at Pangboche for a while to explore its monastic wonder and to enjoy the surroundings before heading to the destinations for overnight stay.

  • Day 8 Day 8: Acclimatization Day

      Another acclimatization day before heading to the base camp is due today. We are going to spend an extra night here at Pheriche today. Like all acclimatization stops on this trip, we will go for a hike today as well. Hiking to a higher elevation and coming back to sleep at lower elevation helps us to acclimatize well and thus, lowering the risk of altitude sickness.

  • Day 9 Day 9: Trek To Lobuche (4,910M)

      On the ninth day of the trip, we will trek to Lobcuhe today. We will follow the walking trail through glacial moraine and boulder strewn area. We walk past Dughla and reach Lobuche to stay overnight.

      Ultimately, the day to reach the Everest Base Camp has arrived. It has been a great adventure walking through the mountains for a few days now and it has brought us to the base camp of the highest mountain in the world. We trek to the base camp via Gorakshep where we are spending our overnight today. We spend some time at the base camp at collect memories and pictures to take back with us. 

      After spending some time at the Everest Base Camp, we trek back to Gorakshep to stay overnight. 

  • Day 11 Day 11: Hike To Kalapatthar (5,545M) And Trek To Dingboche (4,410M)

      Day 11: Hike To Kalapatthar (5,545M) And Trek To Dingboche (4,410M)

      Although we have reached the Everest Base Camp, we still have to walk higher today. It is an early morning hike to Kalapatthar to be at the elevation of 5,545 meters above sea level. Kalapatthar is a great vantage point to enjoy mountain vistas including Mt. Everest right in front of us. We will enjoy the mountains and sunrise from Kalapatthar and head back down to Gorakshep. Later, we will trek to Pheriche to stay overnight.

  • Day 12 Day 12: Trek To Chhukung (4,700M)

      Day 12: Trek To Chhukung (4,700M)

      We will take the route towards Island Peak today. After the trekking to Everest Base Camp, we are now going for a thrilling climbing adventure. Our trek will take us to Chhukung today. Although a short walking day, it will bring us wonderful Himalayan views from the trail. We eventually reach Chhukung to stay overnight after a walk of about four hours.

  • Day 13 Day 13: Trek To Island Peak Base Camp (5,200M)

      Day 13: Trek To Island Peak Base Camp (5,200M)

      We will trek to Island Peak Base Camp today and reach above 5,000 meters from sea level. We will reach the base camp for lunch with enough time to explore around. Once we reach there, we will have a pre-climbing orientation session.

  • Day 14 Day 14: Climb To The Summit (6,189M) And Trek To Chhukung

      Day 14: Climb To The Summit (6,189M) And Trek To Chhukung

      We will go for the summit of the Island Peak after midnight. It is a pretty early start but this is how it is done.  We will slowly trek up the mountain through rocky trail that leads us higher towards the top. The trail slowly exposes to a snow-covered ridgeline. The climb takes us past icy glacier requiring every step to be careful ones. We will eventually make it to the top of the Island Peak, also known as Imja Tse, to find the stunning views of the mountains in the surroundings. 

      Staying for few minutes on the top and enjoying the views make the moment truly incredible. Later, we will climb down to the base camp and trek further to Chhukung for overnight stay.

      One extra day is needed here in case of any delay on the climbing because of the weather condition and other circumstances.

      We will trek back to Pangboche for overnight today. Although it is a short day of walk and we can make it even further, we will take it easy after an extraordinarily beautiful climbing adventure. We will relax and wander around Pangboche village once we reach there.

      We will trek back to Namche today. A relaxing and free evening at Namche bazar.

      We trace the same trail back to Lukla today. We bring our trekking part in the Everest Base Camp Trek to an end here. Twelve days in the mountains have been so wonderful and the experience of reaching the Everest Base Camp and Kalapatthar is indescribable. We wonder how great the trek was and how it has left an everlasting impression upon us.

      We fly back to Kathmandu. We will have free time to relax in Kathmandu after these wonderful mountain days and trekking experience.
