TreXperience offers a door-to-door service; we will pick you up from your hotel on the morning of the trek and drop you off back at your hotel on the last day. All required transportation throughout the trek is included, as well as the train back from Aguas Calientes.

Pre-departure briefing TreXperience welcomes you to our Cusco offices on the evening prior to your trek for a pre-departure briefing. The briefings take place at approximately 6:00pm. Trexperience understand that many hikers may be nervous or inexperienced and so the briefing is an opportunity to meet your guide(s) who will talk you through what to expect over the coming days. Our guides are very approachable and experienced so feel free to use this opportunity to ask them any questions you may have. Permits All admission permits are included. In order to obtain all relevant permits for your hike we will require a photocopy of your passport. We kindly request you share this with the team as soon as you book your trek. Camping equipment Trexperience provide the best possible equipment to all clients, as well as staff, to maximise your experience. Porters Our porters carry all belongings that you donโ€™t need in your daypack up to a maximum weight of 7 kg. Additionally our porters carry all food and equipment. You will find your tents and the campsite prepared for you on arrival so all you need to do is worry about enjoying the hike! Medical kit All Trexperience guides have received training in first aid and high mountain rescue. In the event a guest requires medical attention while on the trek our staff will be able to assist you. A medical kit is kept with the team at all times. In extremely rare case of a serious medical emergency you will be evacuated to the nearest medical centre. Satellite phones To ensure your safety and in case of an emergency we are the first trekking company to introducing satellite phone technology. Taxes and fees All taxes and permit fees associated with this trek are included in the listed price.

Food TreXperience are proud of their highly talented chefs who never fail to cook up a delightful feast despite being in the middle of the Andean Mountains! We guarantee the biggest foodies among you wonโ€™t fail to be impressed. All breakfasts, lunches, and dinners are provided each day (except lunch on the final day), and the food is both delicious and plentiful. We cater to all dietary requirements, so please let us know of your needs. We will keep those energy levels high with snacks each day, and we make sure you have a tea/coffee every morning to wake up and every afternoon to unwind. Water All drinkable water โ€“ from your first lunch to your last breakfast โ€“ will be provided (you need to supply your own water bottles/camelback, and we recommend carrying at least 2L). The water is boiled, filtered, and cooled before it is distributed.

Experienced tour guides The Trexperience team are fluent English speakers and are extremely experienced professional tour guides from the local area. We provide a single guide for groups smaller than 8 people and a second guide for groups with 8 people or more. We very much enjoy sharing our extensive knowledge of local history and culture with you along the trek. All guides are proficiently trained in high mountain rescue, as well as yoga and meditation.       Day 1: Cusco โ€“ Racca โ€“ Soqma โ€“ Korimarca

      TreXperience team will pick you up from your hotel at 7:00 am and drive for 2 hours to the community of Racca, located in the Sacred Valley (You must have breakfast in your hotel for this tour). The Quarry Trail trek starts visiting the ancient Inca shrine of ร‘aupa Iglesia (2967m / 9734 ft). This is by far one of the most mysterious Inca sites in the whole region. Then, continue hiking for 2 hours to the community of Soqma (3188 m / 10459 ft), where lunch will be prepared by your trekking chef using fresh local products. After lunch, explore the village, interact with the local villagers, and understand their humble lifestyles and cultures. The second part of our trek is a 2 to 3-hour hike uphill to Perolniyoc waterfall โ€“ one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Cusco with a drop of 328 feet into the rock. The views from this location of the Soqma Valley, Maras Plateau, and snow-capped mountains are spectacular. The Campsite is near the archeological in Korimarca village (3611 m / 11847 ft)

      Wake up bright and early with a hot cup of coffee or coca tea. Today is the most challenging and yet the most beautiful day of this TreXperience!  After breakfast, itโ€™s a 4-hour uphill hike to Charkahuaylla pass (4450 m/14599 ft). At the summit, you can take a well-earned break and enjoy the amazing views of the snow-capped peaks of the Urubamba mountain range and the mystical Sacred Valley of the Incas. At the same time, your tour guide performs a traditional offering ceremony to the mountain Apus (mountain spirits). Afterward, continue the Quarry trek in the highlands to the Andean lake of Marcacocha (4000 m /13100 ft). This is a perfect place to break for lunch. Later in the afternoon, Apu Buena Negra (4370 m / 14300 ft) started climbing to the second and last mountain of the trek. Upon reaching the summit, your efforts will be rewarded with one of the most spectacular views in the region. Then continue downhill for 2 more hours to Intipunku (Sun Gate), a beautiful doorway that overlooks the majestic Veronica mountain (5,893 m / 19,334 ft). Our campsite is just a few minutes further at Choquetacarpo (3600m/11811ft).

      Choquetacarpo campsite is a perfect place to enjoy the sunrise with a cup of coffee. After breakfast, hike for 3 hours to the Cachiccata Quarry: the Inca Empireโ€™s biggest quarry. Here your tour guide will teach you all about the incredible techniques of the ancient Inca stone-masons as well as about their lives and customs. Youโ€™ll be amazed by the enormous rocks that the Incas would transport and carve without the help of modern technology. This quarry was abandoned together with Machu Picchu and many other Inca sites during the Spanish invasion. As we follow the ancient Inca route used to transfer the rocks to Ollantaytambo, weโ€™ll stop for Pachamanca Barbecue lunch and interact with local villagers at the Cachiccata community. Here our private bus will be waiting to take us to Ollantaytambo to explore these ancient streets and the water channel that has been in use since Inca times. After dinner, take the 7:00 pm train to Aguas Calientes to spend the night in a hotel.

      Day 4: Machu Picchu (Lost City Of The Incas)

      On our final day, get up early and prepare for the highlight of your tour. After breakfast in the hotel, take the first bus to Machu Picchu. Arriving as the sky brightens, the tour starts with a short hike to the Sun Gate or the Inca Bridge, with incredible views of the city along the way. On a clear day, you can watch the spectacular sunrise over Machu Picchu. Then, explore the temples, palaces, and streets. After the guided tour, take some time to explore your own or climb either Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (tickets must be booked as far in advance as possible). Once you finish exploring Machu Picchu, youโ€™ll take the bus down to Aguas Calientes, enjoy lunch ( Not Included), and in the afternoon, take the Vistadome Panoramic train back to Cusco. Drop off at your hotel around 7:30 pm.
