Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Hotel in Kigali

After transport from the airport, meet your program staff and other participants at St. Paul's guesthouse. Receive an overview of the program and orientation. Brief walking tour of neighborhood surrounding lodging, grocery shopping for breakfast supplies, money exchange, etc. Welcome dinner at a local restaurant to experience the flavors of Rwanda.

Panel discussion with representatives from media, government and civil society. In the afternoon, learn about the history of the Rwandan genocide with visits to local non-profit organizations, government offices, and international NGOs. Meetings vary depending on availability.
