Yurrita Church It is a private chapel in a mixed Baroque style, with Romanesque and Byzantine elements. The church was built as a votive offering by Felipe Yurrita, a native of Arรฉvalo, Castilla, Spain, to the Virgen de Nuestra Seรฑora de los Dolores, patron saint of that city, for favors received, particularly for having saved his life during the eruption. from the Santa Maria Volcano. Passing by the Civic Center of the City, we will see a group of buildings built between the 50s and 60s: the Supreme Court of Justice, the Ministry of Public Finance, the City Hall, Social Security, the Bank of Guatemala, the National Mortgage Bank , and the Guatemala Tourism Commission. The Paseo de la Sexta Avenida, was born due to the transfers of the city after the earthquakes in Santa Marta in 1773. Sixth Avenue was one of the most important streets in the city, where the best fashion stores in the city were found , the most prestigious commercials and the first cinemas. Pasaje Rubio, also called "El Portalito", is one of the best-known places in Zone 1. Part of its structure is inspired by the commercial passages of Italy, from the 17th century. Then we will get Plaza Mayor de la Constituciรณn.This square is the heart of the historic center of the city. It is surrounded by important monuments such as the Metropolitan Cathedral, the President Palace and the Centennial Park.  Finally we will drive to Antigua City (2 hours far from the Capital ) Our first stop will be Central Park. We'll hike up the slope of the volcano to the point where we're just 1 mile far from the crater (This hike could take 1 hour to 2 hours to complete) - an incredible experience!
