Please be advised that if you need to return early from the trek due to reasons such as sickness, unfavorable weather conditions, personal issues, itinerary modifications, or any other unforeseen circumstances, the following conditions apply: - Any payments made for flights, hotel accommodations, mountain room bookings, meals, and related expenses are nonrefundable. - You will be required to cover the costs of hotel stays, meals, and other expenses in Kathmandu independently. Additionally, please note that during the months of March to May and September to November, all flights will depart from Ramechhap. It will be necessary for you to make a 4-5 hour drive from Kathmandu to Ramechhap in order to catch your flight. Kindly consider these terms and arrangements carefully before commencing your trek.   • Day 1 Day 1: Arrive In Kathmandu (1,400 M) & Transfer To Hotel.

      Your adventure begins at Kathmandu. A representative from Sherpa Expedition and Trekking will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel in Thamel, the tourist hub of Kathmandu, where you can do some last-minute shopping or merely stroll among the narrow winding streets. 

  • Day 2 Day 2: Guided Sightseeing In The Kathmandu Valley.

      At around 8.30 am your guide will take you sightseeing to the famous World Heritage-listed sights in the Kathmandu Valley. You will get to see: Pashupatinath Temple, Bouddhanath Stupa, and Bhaktapur Durbar Square.

      An early morning 30 to 40-minute scenic flight takes us to Tenzing-Hilary Airport at Lukla from where the trekking begins and we follow the trail to Phakding following the trail along the banks of the Dudh Koshi River.

      Today we have an easy day as we follow the trail and cross over several bridges spanning the Dudh Kosi River via a trail through the attractive villages of Toc-Toc, Benkar and Monjo before arriving at the official entrance to Sagarmatha National Park. The trail follows the river flats for several hours before we cross the final bridge and climb a steep hill to reach Namche Bazaar, a thriving modern town with many facilities such as restaurants, hotels, internet cafes and banks. 

  • Day 5 Day 5: Namche Bazaar Acclimatization Day.

      Today has been set aside in to acclimatize, which is considered necessary before heading to higher altitudes later on the trek.  Health experts strongly suggest staying active during this time in order to improve the acclimatization process. We have several options. We can trek to Thame, visit Khunde or use this time to explore Namche Bazaar and visit the popular weekly market that occurs on Friday evening and Saturday morning. Your guide can take you to the Tourist Visitor Center close to the headquarters of the Sagarmatha National Park that has a charming display of equipment and remnants from the first Everest climbers. This is also a great place to learn more about the flora and fauna of the region that you will encounter on the trail.

      This morning we have a steep uphill climb out of the valley and then pass through the rhododendron forest. Juniper and other conifers start to appear at higher elevations. In springtime, there is loads of color from the many trees that are in blossom. The trail continues and passes Yak Kharka and other summer settlements where yaks can be seen grazing on these alpine pastures. On the trail you will enjoy views of Khumbu La and Taboche. We finally come to our overnight destination of Photse.

      This morning we climb up to a ridge from where we can look down the valley to Kantega and up to Mt. Cho Oyu. We then head down to the river before climbing again to the moraine at the base of the Ngozumpa Glacier. We expect to reach Machhermo by around midday.

      This morning we follow the trail to one of the highlights of this trek, Gokyo (4,790m). We will camp here for two nights giving us time to explore the valley and surrounding countryside. 

  • Day 9 Day 9: Trek To Gokyo Ri (5,483 M) & Visit Fifth Lake.

      This will be our second day set aside to acclimatize. We will explore the valley to improve the process and climb Gokyo RI (5,430m) from where you have some stunning panoramic views of Everest and other nearby snow-covered peaks. We will then return to Gokyo fin time for lunch and then head out again to explore the countryside nearby including the higher lakes.

      This morning we head out on the trail to Cho La Pass. The accommodation at Thagnak is simple and quite basic requiring us to stay in a dormitory overnight. 

  • Day 11 Day 11: Cross Cho La Pass (5,300 M) And Trek To Dzongla (4,710 M) Duration 8-9 Hours.

      We have an early start to the day as we head to Cho La Pass. We will be rewarded with excellent views of Cho La Lake and Mt. Cholatse. We then descend down an icy and possibly slippery trail with glaciers nearby. Along the trail there are many colorful Tibetan prayer flags. We continue until we arrive at tonightโ€™s destination Dzongla.

      After breakfast we head out on the trail to Lobuche. This is a relatively easy short trek today. 

  • Day 13 Day 13: Trek To Everest Base Camp (5,365 M) And Then Back To Gorak Shep (5,180 M) Duration 6-7 Hours.

      Today we gain altitude as we follow the trail and pass Gorak Shep Lake. We will pass a memorial that honors Indian mountaineers who have died on the mountain. At this altitude, it is physically more demanding as a result of the thinner air at this higher altitude. The trail is rocky, with moraine and streams to cross before we come to EBC. At EBC you will notice the many colorful tents of mountaineers waiting for suitable weather conditions before attempting a climb to the summit. From EBC we can see Nuptse, Khumbutse and Pumori and the snow glistening on their peaks. After a rest and scout around EBC we head back down to Gorak Shep for the night.

      Before daybreak we are on the trail heading up to Kala Patthar to catch the glorious sunrise over the mountains. It is claimed to be one of the best places in the region to view Mt. Everest and other impressive Himalayan peaks. We then descend to Gorakshep for breakfast and then continue on to Pheriche.

      We have a long hard day ahead of us with about 7 hours of trekking and passing through the villages of Pangboche and Tengboche before heading down to Phunki Thanga (3200m) and then to Namche Bazaar for the night.

      This is the last day of our trek before returning to where we started our trek at Lukla. This is a time to reflect on the amazing times we enjoyed on our trek. You are free this afternoon during which time you can sit back relax and enjoy a hot shower. In the evening we will celebrate the completion of our trek over a few drinks.

      You will have a final view of the mountains we have recently visited on this 35 minutes scenic flight back to Kathmandu. On arrival in Kathmandu, we will take you back to your hotel in Thamel. You can enjoy the remainder of the day exploring Kathmandu or strolling through the narrow and winding streets for some last-minute purchase.

  • Day 18 Day 18: Leisure Day And Farewell Dinner In Kathmandu.

      This is a spare day in case we were unable to fly from Lukla due to bad weather. This evening we will have a farewell dinner at a traditional Nepalese restaurant with cultural performances and then taken back to your hotel.

      Today is your last day in Nepal and a representative from Sherpa Expedition & Trekking will drop you to Kathmanduโ€™s Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight & departure from Nepal. On your journey home you can contemplate your next trekking adventure to Nepal. You will have time to look back on this journey and consider the friends you made on your trek.
