Oxymeter to check your pulse and oxygen saturation and heart rate twice daily (Very useful to check Altitude Mountain Sickness(AMS) symptoms) Which will ensure you trek is in the safest hands possible for all levels of trekker. 2 nightsโ€™ standard accommodation in a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu on a twin sharing basis including 2 breakfasts. Guesthouse accommodation during the trek in mostly twin-share and occasionally dormitory-style rooms.

  • Day 1 Day 1: Arrival In Kathmandu & Transfer To Hotel.

      A representative from Sherpa Expedition Teams will meet you at the airport and take you to our hotel in Thamel. For the remainder of the day you will have time to stroll around Thamel and do some last-minute shopping before heading out on your trek.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Guided Sightseeing Of The Kathmandu Valley.

      Today we go sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley and will visit Pashupatinath, the holiest Hindu temple in Nepal and a place where pilgrims come to worship Lord Shiva (situated on the banks of the sacred Bagmati River), Bouddhanath, a Tibetan Buddhist temple also known as โ€˜Little Tibetโ€™ and then on to Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple). From Swayambhunath we continue on to Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed site opposite the old royal palace.

      This morning we will head to the domestic terminal of Kathmandu airport for our 35 minute flight to Lukla.  The trek begins along an easily navigated trail passing a Kani (ceremonial gatehouse) before coming to Kyangma Village with its large Gompa (monastery). We then head to Cheplung Village and pass through a forest close to the Dudh Koshi River. After crossing the suspension bridge we climb over the ridge to Ghat Village and then to Phakding Village.

      The trail today crosses a number of suspension bridges spanning the Dudh Kosi River before passing through the villages of Tok-Tok, Benkar, and Monjo and then come to the Sagarmatha National Park entrance gate where you will be asked to buy a trekking permit. After trekking along the river bed for a few hours and crossing the Hillary suspension bridge there is a steep uphill climb to Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar has a good selection of restaurants, an internet cafรฉ, pubs, post office, ATM and banks.

  • Day 5 Day 5: Acclimatization Day At Namche Bazaar.

      Today we focus on acclimatization. Health specialists strongly recommend we spend the day being active. From Namche, we can take a short hike up to Everest View Resort, Thame, visiting Khunde or stroll around Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is the main commercial center of the Everest (Khumbu) region and has government offices and a colorful market each Friday evening and Saturday morning. Our guide will also take us to the Tourist Visitor Center located very close to the headquarters of the Sagarmatha National Park where we can inspect an assortment of relics linked to the first mountaineers to climb Everest, Sherpa cultural artifacts and find out about the varied plant and animal life of the Everest region.

      The trail today begins with a steep ascent from the valley and passes through rhododendron, juniper and a large conifer forest that awakens the senses with their fragrant aroma. The trail passes through Yak Kharka (meaning grazing pasture for yak) and various Sherpa villages on the way. Throughout the trek we will have some splendid views of Khumbu La Pass and Tengboche.

      The trail today passes through pine and oak forests before arriving at the small settlement of Machhermo.

      This morning we will get our first glimpse of the soaring Mt. Cho Oyu (8281m) - a real amazing spectacle.  Further along the trail, we come to the gorge at the base of Mt. Khangtega. Also before our eyes is the massive Ngozumpa Glacier. After stopping for a lunch break we continue to Gokyoโ€™s fifth lake where your camera will capture the stunning turquoise blue water. A gradual ascent from here takes us to Gokyo.

  • Day 9 Day 9: Hike Up To Gokyo Ri (5357M) And Visit Fifth Lake.

      Today is a tough day as we climb a steep trail to Gokyo RI (5357m). The eye-catching views will leave you spellbound and your camera clicking away to capture the scene. The magnificent views of Gokyo Valley, the massive Ngozumpa Glacier (worldโ€™s highest), panoramic views of the entire Khumbu region, including the towering peaks of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, Cho-Oyu and Gychung Kang (7952m) are beyond words. We will then return to the foot of Cho La Pass where we will stay the night in a dormitory.  

  • Day 10 Day 10: Trek To Lunden (4300M) Via Renjo La Pass (5435M) 6-7 Hours.

      Early this morning we will climb to the highest point on this trek, Gokyo Ri (5333m), and enjoy the stunning view of the colossal Ngozumpa Glacier, upper Gokyo Valley and the incredible beauty of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Nuptse, Cho-Oyu, and Gychung Kang The next leg of our trek takes us up and over Renjo La Pass at (5345m) after which we head down to Lungden Village (4,350m) for the night.

  • Day 11 Day 11: Trek From Lunden To Thame (3800M) 5-6 Hours.

      Today we head to Thame (3800m) where we will visit the famous Thame monastery and observe the soothing and enchanting Buddhist prayers of the monks. We can also experience the Sherpa hospitality, traditions and culture of the local people here in Thame. Thame is also the homeland of Apa Sherpa who has made it to the summit of Everest 21 times. Tonight we will stay at Thame and prepare ourselves for tomorrowโ€™s descent back to Namche Bazaar.

      The trail today passes through several villages including Khumjung, and on the trail we will have the mountains at our back as we continue on to the famous Buddhist town of Namche Bazaar, alive with its profusion of Sherpa culture and a vibrant atmosphere, and place where trekkers rest and share their stories. 

  • Day 13 Day 13: Trek To Lukla (2,804 M) 7-8 Hours.

      This is our final day on the trail as we head back to Lukla. This is a good time to reflect on this amazing journey and breathe a sigh of relief at the completion of this epic trek. The afternoon is free for you to wander around Lukla, have a hot shower or maybe a few drinks at a bar.

      To avoid strong winds that are common in the afternoons here we will take an early morning flight back to Kathmandu. On the flight we can gaze down on the massive Himalayan Mountains before coming to Kathmandu.

      After successfully completing your trek to Gokyo Renjo La Pass with Sherpa Expedition Teams we will take you to the airport at least three hours prior to your scheduled departure time.
