Itinerary of your trip 6-Day Wild West And North Small Group Tour Of Ireland

  • Day 1 Bohemian Galway
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Bohemian Galway

Your guide will collect you from your Galway hotel. Meet one of our local friends for a Walkinโ€™ Talkinโ€™ Tastinโ€™ tour of Galway! Have them point out all their favourite spots while trying traditional Irish cuisine, tasting locally distilled gin and learning about the rich history of Galway.  Spend free time this afternoon trying on Claddagh rings and Galway shawls, pass through The Spanish Arch and hear tales of Gaelic bards and visit Galway's ancient fishing village. These tiny streets are home to many a great restaurant and lively pub.  Total estimated driving time: NULL!/

  • Day 2 Mystical Aran Islands And Clifden
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Mystical Aran Islands And Clifden

Fed and watered, itโ€™s off to nearby Rossaveal Pier to catch the ferry to Inis Mor (literally โ€˜big islandโ€™), the largest of the Aran Islands.  Here you can explore the 6km by 2km island by bike or by special request, a jaunting cart with your very own driver and pony. Itโ€™s off to Dรบn Aonghasa, a prehistoric hill fort which dominates the edge of a vertical cliff, 300 ft above the choppy waters of the Atlantic.  Refresh "le cupรกn tae"(a cup of tea) and island porter cake and shop for an original Aran Sweater, perfect for shearwater and other seabird watching.  Tonight you will sleep like a King or Queen at the Abbeyglen Castle Hotel. Be brought back in history with stories of Abbeyglen and the surrounding Clifden area, in an evening toast. A castle stay is a must while you're in Ireland!

  • Day 3 Connemara National Park To The Hills Of Donegal
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Connemara National Park To The Hills Of Donegal

Connemara National Park is calling and The Lost Valley, a deserted famine village where the road literally runs out. As we plough through rugged Connemara, weโ€™ll make for Kylemore Abbey, a working Benedictine abbey built on the grounds of an 18th century castle. It has had more than a few past lives and boasts an imposing position at the foot of Druchruach Mountain, overlooking Kylemore Lake. We start heading for Westport, nestled between the Carrowbeg river and in the shadow of Croagh Patrick. After a spot of lunch you're off toward Yeats' home county, Sligo. You'll stop along the way to take in the many sites used as inspiration for the poet before landing in the hills of Donegal Town for the evening. Located between the near mountains and the sea this town has all of it to offer and more!
