      Upon arrival at the airport, our tour guide will meet you at the arrivalโ€™s hall to take you to the hotel in San Josรฉ.

  • Day 2 Poas Volcano National Park (B/L/-)

      The volcano is an active 2,708-metre (8,885 ft) stratovolcano. The crater is over a mile across and 1050 feet deep. It has erupted 40 times since 1828, including April 2017. 

      Poรกs volcano is a powerful symbol of the geothermal forces that formed Costa Rica. When the mist and clouds apart you will see the sulfuric, bubbling, green rain fed lake at the bottom, surrounded by smoke and steam rising from fumaroles. Water from the lake is constantly seeping through cracks in the hot rock, evaporating and building pockets of steam (the total stay at the National Park will be 40 minutes: 10 minutes walking on the trek to get to the crater viewpoint, 20 minutes at the crater viewpoint, and 10 minutes walking back).

  • Day 3 From San Josรฉ To Tortuguero (B/L/D)

      Today in the morning at 6:35 a.m. a driver and your guide will pick you up at the reception to drive you to Tortuguero. Exact time will be confirmed by the hotel one day before.

      Pick up and breakfast in route after 1.30 hrs. Countinue the journey, one hour later arrival at La Pavona Pier. Board Mawambaโ€™s boat for your one-hour ride to Tortuguero and Mawamba Lodge. For the first part of the journey, youยดll be cruising on โ€œLa Suerteโ€ River, and then, as you get closer to Tortuguero you will get into the wider Tortuguero river. At your arrival to Mawamba Lodge, welcome by the manager. Lunch will be served at the restaurant.

      In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the rainforest, walk with your guide around the hotel looking for animals and beautiful vegetation.

  • Day 4 Tortuguero (B/L/D)

      Tortuguero (B/L/D)

      Today, you will have the opportunity to visit the Village of Tortuguero along with your guide and group. Through this visit, learn about the ways of life of the residents of Tortuguero, a small town of approx. 1500 people. After the visit and some free time, you will return to the Lodge walking by the beach trail leading to the Lodge.

      After lunch, meet for the afternoon canal tour in the Tortuguero National Park. Visit one of the parkโ€™s canals by boat and discover with your guide the wonderful biodiversity that resides in this area. We recommend you bring your windbreaker and poncho. A shower can always be expected in the rainforest! Return to the Lodge approx. at 4:15 p.m. for some free time to relax before dinner time. Dinner will be served from 7:00 p.m at the restaurant by the pool.

      Board the boat in the morning back to dock, here your tour guide will be waiting for you to take you to Rio Danta Restaurant, here you will enjoy lunch, and this is also the meeting point with your tour guide.


      La Fortuna (which means The Great Fortune) is home not only to one: of the most exciting volcanoes in Costa Rica (Arenal), but to some of the most beautiful waterfalls, hot springs, indigenous communities, and horseback riding trails in the country.


      This land is our very own natural theme park with a wide variety of activities and services to satisfy your cravings for adventure, pampering, fine dining, and in-depth cultural exchange.


      At the end of the day visit Ecotermales. Please be ready at 4:45pm to go to the Hot springs. 

      When you immerse yourself in our thermal pools, the embrace of water offers more than warmth: it is a symphony of well-being for body and mind. Calcium, magnesium and other minerals work together to stimulate circulation, soothe muscles and unlock the bodyโ€™s innate ability to recover. This is more than a bath, itโ€™s an ancient ritual of rejuvenation!

      Zipline tour:

      Get your heart pounding by taking a zipline ride through the Costa Rican forest canopy; whizz along cables slung between canyons, admire unique and breathtaking views of the Arenal volcano and lake, fly over and in between trees to feel an adrenaline rush like no other.


      Waterfall walking:

      This tour begins by descending the 500-meter trail to the magnificent La Fortuna Waterfall, renowned for its 60 meter (197 feet) high falls and its crystal-clear waters. Along the trail, you will observe plants, trees, and animals, which inhabit the area like sloths, toucans, orioles, butterflies, and more. You can choose to swim in itโ€™s refreshing waters, take amazing photographs, or simply relax and take in all of the beauty of the La Fortuna Waterfall.

      The scenic Tenorio Volcano, which stands 6,287 feet (1,916 m) tall, is considered dormant, yet it still creates a very life-giving ecosystem. The surrounding terrain is dotted with geothermal activity in the form of thermal hot springs and geysers. This cinder cone volcano boasts a lake-filled crater, and luscious virgin forests.


      One of the regionโ€™s special treats is the mystical Rio Celeste (translated from spanish as โ€™Celeste Riverโ€™). This fascinating river has a unique, strange blue hue โ€” some have described it as turquoise, others sapphire mixed with aquamarine. Whatever specific shade you think the river is, one thing is for sure โ€” it is incomparably blue! Rio celeste gets its unique color from a chemical reaction which is a byproduct of Tenorio Volcanoโ€™s sulfur and calcium carbonates. As if this isnโ€™t enough, you can hike to the beautiful Bijagua Waterfall which gracefully flows into the azure pool below.

      In the morning you will go on a guided tour through Tenorio National Park. Entrance fee and lunch are included.

      After lunnch you will continue towards Monteverde, a mysteriously hypnotizing cloud forest. 


      Monteverde is a breath-taking rainbow โ€“covered valley in the clouds offering spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and Arenal Volcano.


      The guide will inform you of the departure time to meet a Ricardo Guindรณn. 


      In 1949, after serving time for refusing to fight in the Korean war, four pacifist Quakers from Alabama sought a country where they could embrace their peaceful beliefs and continue to cultivate their dairy farms (Costa Rica had abolished its army in 1948 and had underdeveloped mountainsides that were perfect for their trade.) So, in 1950 several Quaker families packed up their belongings and moved to Monteverde and began to farm and live in peace. These families โ€“ along with some of the areaสผs locals โ€“ would go along to establish the most eco-minded community in the country. On this exclusive Localista tour, youสผll get to meet the families of the original Quakers who were inspired by Monteverde to make it their home and hear the amazing story behind this cloud-filled canopy first hand.

      We will take a short walk from Bahia Ballena to the entrance of the Marino Ballena National Park (Uvita Beach sector), from there we will go to the parkโ€™s trail, where we will have the opportunity to observe different species of flora and fauna such as: spiders, insects, macaws, white-faced and congo monkeys, raccoons, porcupines and many more species present in the area.


      It should be noted that the starting time of this tour will depend strictly on the tide conditions, the best time to do it is at low tide. 


      A snorkeling tour is a way to peek beneath the surface of the water and see tropical animals in their natural habitat.
