      Arrive in Dakar, Senegal. Upon arrival, you will be met by our local representative and transferred to your hotel for check in and then relax. Rest of the day is at your leisure to relax after your international flight. Dakar, the capital of Senegal is a modern city of more than 1.5 million people. It is also the economic and political capital. Dakar is a modern city with all aspects of traditional African life. The city has beautiful contemporary buildings and some historical colonial houses. It is a vibrant city with active open-air markets, cafe terraces, and a wide range of hotels, delicious food and a great night life. 

  • Day 2 City Tour Of Dakar & Goree Island

      City Tour Of Dakar & Goree Island

      After breakfast depart for a sightseeing tour of Dakar. Visit Independence Square, the museum of black civilisations, the Kernel Market, with its colorful flowers, fruits, fabrics, clothing and souvenirs. Then move on to view the main government buildings. From there drive through Soweto Square to see the National Assembly and the main museum, Institut Fondementaldโ€™Afrique Noir (IFAN), which houses an amazing collection of masks, statues and musical instruments from West Africa. 


      Check out of your hotel and embark on an emotional and haunting experience with a full day tour to Goree Island, the departure points of millions headed for slavery in the Americas. The particular atmosphere that emanates from this bewitching island, a combination of magic and tragedy makes this place unique in the world. You will take a twenty-minute ferry ride takes you to this once turbulent historical site. Now tranquil, Goree is a UNESCO World Heritage, which used to be a slaving station and was one of the first French settlements on the continent. The island has many clusters of pink colonial style houses, calm streets and a small beach. Visit the historically loaded โ€˜door of no returnโ€™. You have time to explore and visit the Museum Maison des Eclaves (Slavesโ€™ House). Continue on a stroll up to the castle for a spectacular view of the Island and beyond. From here proceed for a visit to the Town Square, then on to the Historical Museum.

      Begin your day with a delightful breakfast before embarking on an exhilarating 4x4 ride across the majestic sand dunes. This thrilling adventure offers breathtaking views and a true taste of desert life. Our first stop is a visit to a local community that thrives on traditional salt harvesting. Here, youโ€™ll have the chance to meet the inhabitants and learn about their unique way of life. Following this, weโ€™ll engage with the Fulani nomadic peoples, where you can gain insights into their rich cultural heritage and experience their warm hospitality.

      Next, we transition to a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle for a scenic drive to Thiรจs. In Thiรจs, weโ€™ll visit the Art Tapestry National Gallery to admire intricate local artworks. Enjoy a delicious lunch at a private restaurant before continuing our journey north to Lompoul. In Lompoul, weโ€™ll visit various villages, offering a deeper understanding of the diverse ethnic groups in the region.       Start your day with breakfast at the hotel before leaving Saint-Louis for the scenic Saloum River Delta, a UNESCO-designated Man and Biosphere (MAB) reserve. Along the way, visit traditional Fulani and Serer villages to experience their rich cultural heritage. Arrive in Kaolack, the heart of the peanut belt, and enjoy refreshments and lunch at the Relais de Kaolack Lodge (meals at your own expense). In the afternoon, explore the bustling central market of Kaolack, brimming with vibrant stalls and local produce. Continue your journey to Toubacouta, arriving in the late afternoon to settle into this tranquil destination for further exploration of the Saloum Delta.

      Early morning departure as you make your way to walk with lions at the Fathala Reserve, an area that consists of approximately 6,000 hectares of original and protected forest, providing guests with the opportunity to visit an original stretch of the African wilderness in its original condition.       After breakfast, check out of your hotel and be transferred down to the water front to board a ferry for an excursion to Banjul, the capital of Gambia. On arrival, embark on a city tour of Banjul. Visit the Tie โ€˜n Dye Factory and see hand-made batiks, tie โ€˜n dye and mud cloth. This is the place to shop for king and queen size bed sheets, square and round table cloth, indigo dresses and skirts. In the afternoon, we visit the central market of Banjul before checking in at our hotel.

      Early morning after breakfast, embark on a journey by crossing the Banjul ferry and driving northwest. Continue your drive through the charming towns of Fatick and Mbour, eventually arriving at the vibrant Saly Resort, ready to relax and enjoy the resortโ€™s amenities.
