Itinerary

Day 1: Day 1: Kolkata

Stop At: Kolkata (Calcutta), Kolkata (Calcutta), Kolkata District, West Bengal
On arrival at Kolkata airport meet with our office executive assistance and transfer to hotel (hotels check in time 1200hr afternoon, early check in subject to room’s availability).

City day of Kolkata visiting historical landmarks the magnificent Fort William, Victoria Memorial, Netaji Bhawan, Howrah Bridge, Zoological Gardens & Dakshineswar Kali Temple.

Day 2: Kolkata - Bagdogra (flight) / Darjeeling (70kms/ 2hrs Approx)

Stop At: Darjeeling, Darjeeling, Darjeeling District, West Bengal
Breakfast at hotel. City tour of Kolkata id not done on 1st day. Later transfer to airport to boaed flight for Bagdogra.

On arrival at Bagdogra airport meet your driver, assistance and proceed to Darjeeling check in at hotel. Rest time free and easy to relax and enjoy the surrounding.

Day 3: Darjeeling

Stop At: Darjeeling, West Bengal, India
Early Morning 4AM pick up for visiting Tiger Hill for spectacular view of colour full sunrise over Mt. Kanchendzonga, on way back visit Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop and back to hotel. After breakfast visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, PN. Zoological Park (closed on Thursday) Tenzing Rock, Ropeway view point, Tibetans Refuge Centre (closed on Sunday), Happy valley Tea Garden (outer view) and Lioyed botanical garden. Afternoon Toy Train Joyride. Evening free to explore the market.

Day 4: Darjeeling – Pelling (75kms/ 3hrs Approx)

Stop At: Pelling, Pelling, West Sikkim, Sikkim
Breakfast at hotel drive to Pelling check in at hotel. Later visit Pemayangtse Monastery & Rabdentse Ruin. Rest time to explore the sight of you interest.
Duration: 4 hours

Day 5: Pelling – Gangtok (120kms/ 4hrs Approx)

Stop At: Gangtok, Gangtok, East Sikkim, Sikkim
Breakfast at hotel drive to Gangtok via NH 31A passing thru Temi, Taraku, Singtam, Rangpo, Ranipool. The journey is surrounded by lush green forests and Tea Gardens with eye catching picturesque view. On the way stop and have a sip of local Sikkimese tea. Arrive and check in at hotel.

Day 6: Gangtok

Stop At: Gangtok, Gangtok, East Sikkim, Sikkim
Breakfast at hotel visit Rumtek Monastery, Insitute of Tibetology, Enchey Monastery & Hanuman Tok is a Hindu temple. Rest time to explore the sites of your interest and visiting the local market.

Day 7: Gangtok – Kalimpong (75kms/ 2hrs Approx)

Stop At: Kalimpong, Kalimpong, Kalimpong District, West Bengal
Breakfast at hotel drive to Kalimpong check in at hotel. Later sightseeing visiting Durpin Monastery, Dr Graham's Homes, Sherpa View Point, Durga Mandir & Mangal Dham. Rest time to relax and visit the local market.

Day 8: Kalimpong - Bagdogra (75kms/ 2hrs Approx) / Guwahati (flight)

Stop At: Guwahati, Guwahati, Kamrup Metropolitan District, Assam
Breakfast at hotel, transfer to airport to board flight for Guwahati.

On arrival at Guwahati airport assistance and transfer to hotel. Evening enjoy a magnificent sunset over the majestic Brahmaputra River on a cruise.

Day 9: Guwahati - Kaziranga National Park (200km/ 4hr approx)

Stop At: Kaziranga National Park, Kaziranga National Park, Golaghat District, Assam
Breakfast at hotel, visit Kamakhya Temple, Navagraha Temple, Umananda Island - the smallest river island in the world, here man and the wilderness co-habit in peace and serenity. Later drive to Kaziranga National Park and check in at resort. Rest time free and easy to relax.

Day 10: Kaziranga National Park

Stop At: Kaziranga National Park, Kaziranga National Park, Golaghat District, Assam
Early morning explore central Range of Kaziranga National Park on Elephant Safari. On return explore the eastern range on a jeep safari. Return for lunch and proceed to Western Range of Kaziranga National Park on jeep.

Kaziranga National Park - An UNESCO World Heritage Site, the park hosts two-thirds of the world's Great One-horned Rhinoceroses. Kaziranga boasts the highest density of tigers among protected areas in the world and was declared a Tiger Reserve in 2006. The park is home to large breeding populations of elephants, wild water buffalo, and swamp deer. Kaziranga is recognized as an Important Bird Area by Birdlife International for conservation of avifaunal species. Compared to other protected areas in India, Kaziranga has achieved notable success in wildlife conservation. Located on the edge of the Eastern Himalaya biodiversity hotspot, the park combines high species diversity and visibility.

Day 11: Kaziranga - Majuli (150km/ 4hr approx)

Stop At: Majuli, Majuli, Jorhat District, Assam
Breakfast at resort, drive to Majuli till Nimathi-Ghat to connect to a local ferry to cross mighty Brahmanputra river with co-passengers on board! The ferry ride will a little more than one hour or so, depending on the current of the water. After reaching Kamalabari Ghat continue driving for 8km to your lodge for about half an hour! Explore local village of Mishing tribe nearby, meet local, have tea or local rice beer at their place. Later visit and interact with the local mask-make.

Day 12: Majuli – Jorhat – Dimapur – Benreu

Stop At: Dimapur, Dimapur, Dimapur District, Nagaland
After breakfast transfer to Kamalabari ghat (40km / 1hr approx) to connect your ferry to reach Jorhat. From Jorhat board day train to Dimapur. On arrival at Dimapur railway station meet with your driver and proceed to Benreu village (97km/ 3Hrs) which is a Zeliang Naga village. The drive is experience rough/broken narrow road, enroute visit take a brief stop at Peleke village. Drive on to Benreu village for overnight stay. Evening stroll in the village and bon-fire with your host family.

Day 13: Benreu

Stop At: Benreu, Nagaland 797101, India
After breakfast shall start our day at leisure, visit good luck wild animal hunters, meet them listen to their hunt expedition! Visit traditional morung which is an informal institute where history, tradition and cultures are passed from generation to generation. Later we shall take a hike to Mt. Pauna which will be about 2/3 hours each way.

NB:- The hike is 50% moderate and 50% tough. Hike back to your lodge for the overnight stay. Evening we shall participate in cooking local dinner.

Day 14: Benreu – Poilwa – Dzuleke

Stop At: Poilwa, Nagaland 797101, India
Morning after breakfast we shall walk down through the village for about half an hour, meet your car and drive on to Poilwa village, distance to drive- 25 km and driving time will be 2 hours. On arrival local lunch shall be served.

Post lunch we shall hike through the jungle on mostly flat gradient which will take about 2 hours. Target to reach Dzuleke village before dark!

Check in to your homestay, get introduced to your host along with a cup of tea. You may stroll around the village.

NB: - You may have interaction with your host on their successful story of their community based tourism, conservation, etc.

Day 15: Dzuleke – Khonoma

Stop At: Khonoma, Nagaland 797002, India
Today we shall drive and walk to Khonoma village, on arrivalexplore in and around Khonoma ‘the first green village of the country’.

Khonoma is well known for its valour and prowess and was more popularly known as vanguard for many neighbouring villages in the past!

In the course of village walk we shall visit age-group house, morung, meet cane basket weavers, etc. Later we have the option to go for ‘Nature walk’ where we will get to come across herbal plants, eatable organic vegetables, see farm land with alder trees, hear birds chirping, etc. We may collect wild vegetables with which you may part take in cooking dinner! Picnic lunch at the buffer zone of KNCTS (Khonoma Nature Conservation & Tragopan Sanctuary)

OR

Walk to terrace field and organize picnic lunch where we will be cooking our own lunch.

Day 16: Khonoma - Dimapur (95km/ 3-4hr drive)

Stop At: Khonoma Village, Khonoma India
Breakfast at hotel drive to Dimapur airport to board flight for Kolkata. From Kolkata board conecting flight for your onward destination.
