      Sightseeing In Thimphu

You will visit Kuensel Phodrang, sometimes known as Buddha Point, which views the southern entrance of Thimphu Valley from a hill in Nature Park after breakfast. It is said to bring happiness and harmony into the planet. From Kuensel Phodrang, travel to Changgangkha. The journey through densely populated blue pine forests provides a breathtaking view of Thimphu Valley. It was developed for cycling but works well for hiking. This route honors Bhutanโ€™s fourth kingโ€™s 60th birthday. Next, visit the Memorial Chorten and Motithang Takin Preserve. The Motithang Takin Preserve, is the best place to see Bhutanโ€™s national animal, Takin. The fourth King of Bhutan believed the menagerie violated Bhutanese culture, environment, and religion. Animals were released when the zoo closed. The domesticated Takin flock at the menagerie explored Thimphu for food. This development was intriguing. They were returned to the preserve. The best time to view this Thimphu landmark is in the morning when animals are eating along the borders. The massive Tibetan-style Thimphu Chorten, also known as Memorial Chorten, has golden spires and bells. To honor Jigme Dorji Wangchuk, the third king, it was founded in 1974. One of Thimphuโ€™s most renowned religious buildings is the chorten. Next, Explore Tashichho Dzong late at night. The western bank of the Wang Chu in Thimphuโ€™s north has Bhutanโ€™s most spectacular edifice. Bhutanโ€™s summer capital and seat of the Druk Desi or โ€˜Dharma Rajaโ€™, the civil governmentโ€™s leader from 1907, has been there. The revered monastic communityโ€™s summer residence and Bhutanโ€™s throne room are there. King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk, the Third King, moved the capital from Punakha to Thimphu and redesigned the outstanding medieval dzongs. Fortress of the Wonderful Religion houses the Kingโ€™s throne, secretariat, and monastic body. Visitors can see its courtyard during Thimphu Tshechu and Punakha monk winters.

Punakha Dzong, the "Palace of Great Happiness," is one of Bhutanโ€™s most spectacular and historic strongholds. It is a stunning example of Bhutanese architecture and craftsmanship at the confluence of the Pho Chhu (father) and Mo Chhu (mother) rivers in Punakha. Punakha Dzong, built in 1637, was the capital until the relocation to Thimphu. Beautiful gardens and a suspension bridge compliment the Dzongโ€™s tall white walls, ornate woodwork, and brilliant red roofs. It houses various important temples and rooms, including the Kinray, which hosts glorious religious events and festivities. Punakha Dzong, a living symbol of Bhutanโ€™s heritage and a religious and governmental center, attracts tourists seeking cultural and historical immersion.

Chimi Lhakhang, the "Fertility Temple," is a lovely and culturally significant Buddhist monastery in Punakha, Bhutan. Lama Drukpa Kunley, the "Divine Madman" of Buddhist doctrine, founded it in the 15th century. The little but charming Chimi Lhakhang is surrounded by lush rice fields and a lovely environment. Couples seeking fertility and childbirth blessings visit it often. The shrine has bright phallus emblems for luck. Visitors and pilgrims hike across verdant countryside to reach this remarkable temple, symbolizing Bhutanโ€™s spiritual diversity and cultural richness.

Bhutanese architecture and art are showcased by the Kham Sum Yulley Namgyal Chorten on a magnificent ridge above Punakha Valley. Her Majesty the Queen Mother, Ashi Tshering Yangdon Wangchuck, spent nine years building this 4-story temple according to the Holy Scriptures. Talon, a hillside Punakha community noted for its cleanliness and hygiene, is next. Plateau-based Talon Sanga Chholing offers a stunning perspective over the settlements.
