Additionally, please note that during the months of March to May and September to November, all flights will depart from Ramechhap. It will be necessary for you to make a 4-5 hour drive from Kathmandu to Ramechhap in order to catch your flight. Kindly consider these terms and arrangements carefully before commencing your trek.   • Day 1 Day 1: Arrive At Kathmandu And Transfer To Hotel.

      A representative from Sherpa Expedition and Trekking will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel in Thamel โ€“ the tourist hub of Kathmandu. We will have a short pre-trek briefing and give you a copy of the map showing the route we will take. You will also get to meet your trekking guide too. Please ensure to have your passport, three passport-size photos and a copy of your travel insurance policy with you. This is also the time to clear the balance of your trek. You will also be asked to sign a disclaimer form.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Fly To Lukla (2,804 M) And Trek To Phakding (2,610 M) Duration 4-5 Hours.

      Your adventure begins after arriving at Tenzing Hillary Airport at Lukla and then following the trail to Phakding Village.  The trail takes us through Chaurikharka Village before climbing to Dudh Koshi Ghat (2,530m/8,300ft) and then on to Phakding. At Phakding we will visit Rimishung Monastery.

      We follow the trail along the banks of the Dudh Koshi River and then cross several suspension bridges, including the Hillary suspension bridge, before coming to the Sagarmatha National Park checkpoint where they will ask to see our trekking permits. We then ascend through a dense forest that can be quite tiring as we head to higher altitudes. This is also where we get our first peek of Mt. Everest soaring above us. A bit further on we come to Namche Bazaar, a significant village where trekkers meet before heading deeper into the Himalayan Mountains.

  • Day 4 Day 4: Exploration & Acclimatization At Namche Bazaar.

      Day 4: Exploration & Acclimatization At Namche Bazaar.

      This is an important day where it is necessary to acclimatize before ascending to higher altitudes. Health authorities strongly recommend you stay active and keep active during this acclimatization period. We will take a short trek to Thame or alternatively visit Khunde. We may also explore Namche Bazaar the centre of the Everest Khumbu region. If you arrive on either Friday evening or on Saturday you will be able to visit the bustling weekly market. Your guide will take you higher up the mountain-side to the Tourist Visitor Centre near to the headquarters of the Sagarmatha National Park. It is a fascinating place that has numerous displays of equipment and relics from the early explorers in this region. This is also a good opportunity to learn more about the Sherpa people and the flora and fauna of the region. 

  • Day 5 Day 5: Trek To Tengboche Monastery (3,860 M) Duration 5-6 Hours.

      The trail is fairly flat heading to Tengboche and zigzags through the valleys before coming to Kenjoma Village where it joins the trail from Khumjung passing numerous Mani stones (stones inscribed with sacred Buddhist prayers). The views of Everest and Mt. Ama Dablam are breathtaking along this part of the trail. We pass the small village of Sanasa and then the path descends to Phunki Thanga Village (3250m) before a steep climb up through pine forests before reaching Tengboche (3870m). Tengboche is famous for its magnificent views of many of the worldโ€™s tallest peaks, such as Kwangde (6187m), Tawachee (6542m), Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse (8501m), Amadablam, Kantega and Thamserku. Tonight we stay at Tengboche.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Trek Back To Namche Bazaar (3,441 M) Duration 5-6 Hours.

      Today we backtrack on the same trail with the mountains behind us and descend from Tengboche (3,860m) to Namche Bazaar.

  • Day 7 Day 7: Trek To Lukla (2,804 M) Duration 6-7 Hours.

      This is our final day of trekking as we return to Lukla where the trek began. We can look back on the trek and relax at Lukla for the remainder of the day, wander about the town and enjoy a hot shower! In the evening we may decide to have a few celebratory drinks with your trekking mates after this short  adventure into the Himalayan Mountains.

      On your scenic flight back to Kathmandu you will have some final birds-eye views down on the mountains where you ventured. On arrival in Kathmandu, we will take you from the airport back to your hotel.

      Today marks the end of your visit to the famous Himalayas. A representative from Sherpa Expedition and Trekking will take you to the airport, approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. On your way home youโ€™ll have time to think about your next exciting journey in this mountainous country.
