We have several options and can trek to Thame or visit Khunde, or we can use this time to explore Namche Bazaar and make our way to the weekly market on Friday evening and on Saturday morning โ€“ if our timing is right of course! Your guide will also take you to the Tourist Visitor Center near the headquarters of the Sagarmatha National Park that has a fascinating display of equipment and relics of the first Everest climbers. The trail also offers some stunning mountain views as we slowly climb higher to 3860 meters at Tengboche Village, well-known for its attractive wall hangings and 6 meter Buddha, Tibetan musical instruments and brilliant Lama robes. A special feature of visiting here is listening to the evening prayer at the monastery that is both relaxing and soothing.

It is again necessary to acclimatize before heading much higher. To stay active, strongly recommended by health specialists, we will climb 400 meters to Nangkartshang Gompa that sits perched on a ridge just north of Dingboche Village. From here we can see Mt. Makalu (8,463m), the worldโ€™s fifth highest mountain, as well as Mt. Ama Dablam. If you have enough energy we can climb to the summit at Nangkartshang (5090m) before returning to Dingboche for the night.

The first village we come to today is Dughla Village. We then trek along the rocky slopes before crossing the steep moraine at the base of the Khumbu Glacier. Next we head up to Chupki Lhara that has piles of stones with prayer flags placed as a memorial to climbers Scott Fischer (American) and ten-time Everest summiteer Babu Chiri Sherpa (Nepalese guide) who died while trying to climb Mt. Everest. As we get closer to the Khumbu Glacier moraine several massive peaks stare right at us: Khumbutse, Lingtren, Pumori and Mahalangur Himal. This scene is a real surprise. We will stay in a lodge here overnight.

  • Day 9 Day 9: Trek From Lobuche To Gorekshep (5181M/16994Ft) To Kalapatthar (5545M/18188Ft)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 9: Trek From Lobuche To Gorekshep (5181M/16994Ft) To Kalapatthar (5545M/18188Ft)

We start as usual after breakfast. Todayโ€™s hike is challenging mainly due to altitude. As we scramble over boulders over the Lobuche pass and the Khumbu glacier all our concentration and energy is taken because of the altitude gain and we need to stop often. As we continue our walk we will reach, a tiny settlement, Gorekshep that sits on top of small frozen lake. Gorekshep is the original Base Camp for climbers summiting Everest, and although Base Camp has since been moved closer to the mountain, it still remains a busy stop for both trekkers and climbers. Most trekkers make Gorekshep their base to go for a hike to Everest Base Camp and Kalapatthar which is about two hours trek each from Gorekshep. At around 3-4 pm (depending upon season), we start our hike to westwards from Gorekshep for Kalapatthar, the best view point to view Everest Himalayan range. Sunset view of Everest and neighboring mountains is dramatic during sunset as the setting sun fires the peaks with golden glory. We return back to sleep at Gorakshep today to aid acclimatisation for our next dayโ€™s Everest base camp hike and exciting overnight stay at Everest base camp! (8-9 hours) All meals included.

  • Day 10 Day 10: Trek From Gorekshep To Everest Base Camp And Overnight At Everest Base Camp (5364M/17594Ft)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 10: Trek From Gorekshep To Everest Base Camp And Overnight At Everest Base Camp (5364M/17594Ft)

Itโ€™s the ultimate day of our trip but since we are spending a whole day and night at Everest base camp, there is no rush to leave our sleeping bags early in the chilly morning. We wake up leisurely and after breakfast we begin our hike to Everest Base camp which starts with a walk back towards the Khumbu Glacier through the incredibly loose sand of Gorak Shepโ€™s dry lakebed. Akin to the hike to Gorakshep from Lobuche the trail is easy, sloping gently upwards, but altitude makes it intense. On a clear day we can see Khumbu Icefall (one of the major obstacles Everest climbers need to conquer on their Everest expedition). The trail reaches the top of the ridge and follows the mountain edge due north towards the cul-de-sac at the end of the glacier. If its Everest climbing season (April-May), we see colorful tents at Everest base camp. We will reach Everest base camp which is marked with piles of stones and strings of prayer flags and few Everest base camp signs. Weโ€™ll also see other giants such as Mt Lingtren, Mt. Khumbutse, Mt. Nuptse and Mt. Lhotse and more. We have the whole day to explore base camp, and if you have more energy you can climb closer to Khumbu Icefall. Enjoy both the sunset views and sunrise view over the mountains from Everest base camp! Observe the expedition life at Everest base camp and share night with some of the intrepid Everest climbers. (2 hours) all meals included

  • Day 11 Day 11: Trek Back To Pangboche (3930M/12890Ft)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 11: Trek Back To Pangboche (3930M/12890Ft)

Early Morning our camping staffs will prepare breakfast for you. After breakfast we retrace towards Pheriche. As we will lose a lot of elevation the lack of oxygen is no longer a hurdle to breathe. A few miles beyond the Everest memorials, we descend a steep hill into a valley. We will follow the same trail back as we used to reach Everest base camp to reach Lobuche. Here we will have a rest and lunch stop. After lunch, weโ€™ll continue on to Pangboche where we will be staying the night in a cosy mountain lodge. All meals included today, with a walking time of roughly 7 to 8 hours.

  • Day 12 Day 12: Trek Back To Namche Bazaar (3,440 M) Duration 5-6 Hours.
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 12: Trek Back To Namche Bazaar (3,440 M) Duration 5-6 Hours.

From Pangboche we retrace our steps descending to the Imja Khola and then up through the rhododendron forest to Tengboche monasteries. For some, this will be an opportunity to see the nuns perform their religious ceremonies at the Tengboche Monastery. After lunch at Tengboche, we continue our trek across the hillside blanketed by colorful rhododendron and juniper trees. After crossing the bridge over the (milky river) Dudh Koshi River our trail continues through the Dudh Koshi gorge descending rapidly through the pine forests before reaching Sansa. Along the way we keep our eyes peeled for wildlife, such as (Himalaya Thar) mountain goats, snow leopards, and colorful pheasants while passing through the forest. After passing a Chorten we reach the army camp at Namche Bazaar where we stay overnight. Breakfast, lunch & dinner included

  • Day 13 Day 13: Trek To Lukla (2,804 M) Duration 6-7 Hours.
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

This is a time to reflect on the unforgettable memories of our trek as a group and our achieving our individual goals. A free afternoon allows you time to relax and enjoy a hot shower! In the evening we will celebrate with a few drinks and dance.. Breakfast, lunch & dinner included.

  • Day 14 Fly Back To Kathmandu; Flight Duration 30 Minutes.
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Fly Back To Kathmandu; Flight Duration 30 Minutes.

After our 14 day trek, we take an early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. After arriving at Kathmandu, you can take a rest or do some shopping. This is also a time to catch up on visiting places you missed on arrival in Kathmandu. Our guides will continue to assist you with b souvenir shopping or sightseeing.

  • Day 15 Day 15: Transfer To The International Airport For Your Final Departure.
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm
