Today we can take a hike to Thame or visit Khunde, or wander around and explore Namche Bazaar โ€“ the home to many Sherpas employed in the trekking industry. Namche Bazaar is the business center of the Everest (Khumbu) region and has government offices, ATMs, Internet cafes, shops, restaurants, a bakery, and a lively market each Friday evening and Saturday. If we choose to take a more vertical trek during the day it will help us to better acclimatize. Our guide will also take us to the Tourist Visitor Center near the headquarter of the Sagarmatha National Park where we can see a selection of artifacts related to the first Everest climbers, and learn more about the Sherpa culture and flora and fauna of this region.

The trail is easy-going as we enter the Imja Valley that slowly widens as we get nearer to the Lobuche River. We will then descend to the river before a steep ascent up to Dingboche. Dingboche is remarkable in that its fields are surrounded by stone walls that protect them from grazing animals and strong winds. The fields are planted in crops of barley, buckwheat, and potatoes.

Everest, Lhotse, Cholatse, and Taboche before crossing through Renjo La Pass.
