      A representative from Sherpa Expedition and Trekking will meet you at Tribhuvan International Airport and take you to your hotel in Thamel, the tourist hub of Kathmandu. This evening we have a pre-trek meeting at our office and will introduce you to your trekking guide and fellow trekkers. Please be sure to bring your passport, three passport-size photos, and a readable copy of your travel insurance policy. 

  • Day 2 Day 2: Fly To Lukla And Trek To Phakding (2652M/8699Ft) 4-5 Hours.

      This is where our adventure starts after arriving at Tenzing Hillary Airport at Lukla from where we follow the trail to Phakding Village. The trail takes us through Chaurikharka Village before heading down to Dudh Koshi Ghat (2,530m/8,300ft) and then to Phakding. At Phakding we will visit the Rimishung Monastery.

      Today we walk over several swaying suspension bridges across the Dudh Kosi River before coming to Tok-Tok, Benkar, and Monjo. We then arrive at the Sagarmatha National Park entrance gate where you will be required to show your trekking permit. After following the trail along the river bed for several hours, and after the last Hillary suspension bridge, there is a steep ascent to Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar has a good variety of restaurants, an internet cafรฉ, pubs, a post office, and an ATMโ€™s. 

  • Day 4 Day 4: Acclimatization Day At Namche Bazaar And Hike To Everest View Hotel.

      Day 4: Acclimatization Day At Namche Bazaar And Hike To Everest View Hotel.

      This quaint town is the perfect place to spend time and for "acclimatization". Health specialists strongly suggest that we spend the day being active - rather than sitting idle. From Namche we will take a short trek to Everest View Resort/Hotel, Thame, visit Khunde or rest and wander around Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is the most significant center of the Everest (Khumbu) region and has government offices, ATMs, internet cafes, shops, restaurants, bakery, and a lively market each Friday evening and Saturday. Our guide will take us up to the Tourist Visitor Center near the headquarters of the Sagarmatha National Park where we can view a variety of relics linked to the first mountaineers in this region.

      The trail today follows the rapid flowing glacial waters of the Dudh Kosi River. You will have views of several magnificent mountains: (Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Taboche Peak, and Amadablam. We then come to Tengboche (3,800m) where we will visit the Tengboche monastery with its distinctive ornate wall hangings, a 20-foot sculpture of various poses of the Buddha and musical instruments and robes of the Tibetan Lamas. We will also witness a prayer ceremony in the evening or in the morning, depending on what time we arrive here.

      Today we have a short trek from Tengboche to Dingboche is short and will most likely have us arrive at Dingboche in the afternoon. The last hill we head up into Dingboche, and at this high altitude, is physically tiring. The trail then heads to the village of Somare (4020m) and then to Orsho. Later down the trail it divides with us following the left trail and heading up to Pheriche before crossing over a suspension bridge and then a steep climb to the village of Dingboche (4460m) with several good guesthouses.

  • Day 7 Day 7: Acclimatization Day Ad Dingboche.

      Remembering that we should remain active we head up an easy route to Chhukung. From here you get a stunning view of Mt. Ama Dablam. The views from Chhukung, and later in the valley of Island Peak are spectacular. From Nagarjuna, we have magnificent views of Lobuche East (6119m), Thamserku (6608m), Khangtega (6685m), Lobuche West (6145m), Taboche Peak (6542m), and Ama Dablam (6856m) Todayโ€™s trek is fairly short and downhill before arriving at Dingboche where we stay the night. This trek is often associated with strong and gusty winds.

      Today we are on the trail for around 5 hours before arriving at Lobuche. We trek through a large valley before coming to Dughla and then come to the Trekkers Aid Post arranged at Pheriche (4240m) where western volunteer specialists provide treatment to trekkers. We continue on through the valley and pass yak pastures before coming to Lobuche.

      Today we head to higher altitudes on our way to Everest Base Camp (5364m). This is where it all began when Hillary and Norgay planned their ascent on Everest in 1953. Time should be taken to reflect on what they went through before the day of the assault on the summit. We will spend some time here before heading back to Gorakshep for the night.

  • Day 10 Day 10: Hike To Kalapattar (5545M/18188Ft) & Back Gorekshep, Then Fly Back To Kathmandu By Helicopter.

      We need to be up early โ€“ before sunrise, as we head to Kala Pathar (5550m) that should take us about two hours. From Kala Patthar, you will have stunning panoramic views of Mt. Everest and other towering snow-capped peaks. The radiant photos of Everest that you see on the internet are taken from this vantage point. From here we head back down to Gorakshep for breakfast. We then head to the skies for a fantastic scenic flight to Kathmandu. You will have a new perspective from high up in the helicopter of where you have trekked.

  • Day 11 Day 11: Transfer To Tribhuwan International Airport.

      Your amazing adventure to EBC and Nepal comes to an end today as you are taken to the airport by a representative from Sherpa Expedition & Trekking at least three hours prior to your scheduled departure. Sitting on this flight home will give you time to ponder your next venture into the Himalayan Mountains.
