      After breakfast, weโ€™ll begin with a trip orientation meeting followed by a full-day tour of the Kathmandu Valley. As Nepalโ€™s historical and cultural hub, Kathmandu offers a fascinating blend of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism, and Western influences. On this tour, weโ€™ll explore the stunning Newari architecture of Kathmandu Durbar Square, visit the grand Boudhanath and Swayambhunath Stupas, and see Pashupatinath Temple, the most important Hindu temple in Nepal, located on the banks of the holy Bagmati River. Youโ€™ll also have time for last-minute shopping. In the evening, join us for a welcome dinner.

      We fly to the mountain airstrip of Lukla and begin our first short trek, heading north up the Dudh Kosi Valley before descending into a forested area. The trail crosses several tributary streams, offering tantalizing views along the way. Weโ€™ll reach the small settlement of Phakding, where we will spend our first night.

      Heading to Namche Bazaar, we pass through the hamlets of Zamphute and Tok Tok, where weโ€™ll enjoy views of the dazzling Thamserku. We continue through the scenic Sherpa villages of Benkar, Chumoa, and Monjo, reaching Utche Choling Gompa on a bluff overlooking the Dudhkoshi River. From there, we make our way to the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. After reaching halfway to Namche Bazaar, we tackle a steeper climb. Crossing the village of Jorsale, we ascend a steep path to a high bridge over the Dudhkoshi River gorge, where it meets the Bhote Koshi. As we continue uphill, we finally reach Namche Bazaar, where we get our first glimpse of Mount Everest peering over the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge.

      We spend an acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar to help our bodies adjust to the high altitude. During the day, we can take short walks or climb a few hundred feet to explore local villages, terraced fields, and stunning snowy peaks like Kwangde, Khumbu Peak, Thamserku, and Kusum Kanguru. Donโ€™t miss the vibrant Saturday market, where you can mingle with locals in traditional attire.


      Weโ€™ll start our climb from beside the Gompa, ascending through the U-shaped hillside. Along the way, enjoy views of Kwangde, Khumbila, Thamserku, Tagi Tau, Pharchamo, Ama Dablam, and Taboche. At a signposted intersection, weโ€™ll head right towards Khumjung. Passing a large chorten and mani wall, weโ€™ll reach the Everest View Hotel for lunch, with spectacular views of Everest, Lhotse, Lhotse Shar, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, and Taboche.


      Afterward, weโ€™ll drop down to Khumjung, known for its gompa in a cedar grove. Inside, it houses an image of Guru Padmasambhava and a skull believed by lamas to be that of a yeti, though this claim was debunked by US scientists. We then return to Namche Bazaar for the night.

      Today, we start our climb from beside the Gompa, ascending the U-shaped hillside above Namche. Along the way, weโ€™ll enjoy views of snowy peaks including Kwangde, Khumbila, Thamserku, Tagi Tau, Pharchamo, Ama Dablam, and Taboche. At a signposted intersection, we turn right towards Khumjung.


      Walking past a large chorten and a long mani wall, weโ€™ll reach a viewpoint with stunning views of Everest, Lhotse, Lhotse Shar, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, and Taboche. From here, the path descends to Khumjung, passing the Hillary School. Khumjung is renowned for its gompa nestled in a cedar grove. Inside the gompa, thereโ€™s an image of Guru Padmasambhava and a skull believed by lamas to be that of a yeti, though this claim was debunked by US scientists.

      As we leave Khumjung, weโ€™ll see Tengboche with its impressive monastery perched on a ridge directly ahead. We descend quickly down the stepped path through a forest of rhododendron and birch trees. The trail reaches Sanasa (3,650m/12,045ft), a major junction where the Khumjung path meets the main Namche-Tengboche trail. This region is teeming with wildlife, and trekkers often spot musk deer, blue sheep, and Himalayan goats.


      The trail then continues with a long, zigzag descent from Tashinga, eventually leveling out at the small settlement of Phunki Tenga, next to the Dudh Koshi River. The climb to Tengboche from here is the toughest section of the trail so far, taking about 2-3 hours. As we climb, weโ€™ll catch a glimpse of Kangtega (6,783m/22,383ft). A kaani gateway signals our arrival in Tengboche, where the monastery dominates the meadow.


      Tengbocheโ€™s breathtaking beauty is unmatched, offering a panoramic view of the lower and middle Khumbu peaks, including Kangtega, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, Taboche, Kwangde, and Tengkangboche, along with the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge and a glimpse of Everest. This area is especially vibrant during the Mani Rimbu Festival in autumn, when mask dances are performed in front of the monastery for three days.

      Descending from Namche Bazaar, we continue along the Dudh Kosi River, passing through rhododendron and pine forests. We move past Jorsale, Monzo, and Benkar, reaching Chaunrikhara. From there, we leave the main trail and make a short climb to the Lukla airstrip.

      We depart Kathmandu early in the morning for a 30-minute flight to Pokhara. Upon arrival, youโ€™ll be picked up and driven to Naya Pul, where a short walk leads us to Birethanthi, a large and prosperous village.

      We follow the trail through Birethantiโ€™s main streets, bamboo forests, and past a large waterfall to Sudami, beyond a caravan pasture. We then climb steadily to Hille and continue to Tikhedhunga. After crossing the Tikhedhunga Khola on a suspension bridge, we descend to cross the Bhurungdi Khola at 1520m. The trail then steeply ascends a stone staircase with over 3,300 steps to Ulleri (2080m). From there, we climb through pastures and forests to Banthanti, crossing oak and rhododendron forests and several streams. After passing Nangathanti (2460m), we reach Ghorepani, where we can admire the hillsides adorned with various species of Nepalโ€™s national flower, rhododendron.

      After an hourโ€™s climb in the morning, we reach Poon Hill, renowned for its breathtaking Himalayan panorama, including views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Machhapuchhre. The vista stretches from Dhaulagiri I (8167m) and Tukuche (6920m) to Nilgiri (6940m), Annapurna South, Annapurna I (8091m), Hiunchuli (6441m), and Tarke Kang (7193m).


      Continuing slightly beyond the viewpoint, we descend a bit and traverse a series of ups and downs through bamboo, rhododendron, and birch forests to reach Deurali, which has an additional viewpoint tower 200m (660ft) above the hamlet. Beyond Deurali, we cross slippery stretches and a stream, then climb steep stone steps with iron railings to Banthanti. The trail then descends through dense forests, crosses a stream, and climbs steep stone steps to reach Tadapani, offering superb views of the surrounding mountains.

      The Ghandruk trail descends steeply through forests to Bhaisi Kharka from where we take the right hand trail that makes a short steep descent among rocks to a stream crossing, and then leads out on a ridge towards Ghandruk. The trail reaches the top of top of Ghandruk and descends on stone steps into the maze of the village itself. Ghandruk is the second largest Gurung settlement in Nepal framed by outstanding views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

      We follow the main trail south, initially descending a staircase before traversing high above the river on a stone-paved path. We cross a stream at Chane (1690m) and continue to Kimche (1640m), then descend along the ridge to meet the Modi Khola at Syauli Bazaar (1140m). From here, the path flattens, meandering through birch forests and rice terraces until we reach Birethanti. After a 30-minute walk on a rough, rocky road, we arrive at Nayapul and drive back to Pokhara.

      After breakfast, we travel west to Chitwan National Park, one of the worldโ€™s top-managed parks, located about 160km from Pokhara, a 4-5 hour drive. Upon arrival, we have lunch at a lodge and then engage in a variety of jungle activities, including an elephant safari, jungle drive, and nature walk.

      For wildlife viewing and birdwatching, you can opt for a jungle safari in a four-wheel drive jeep or a nature walk deep into the park. Alternatively, enjoy a relaxing canoe trip on the Rapti or Narayani Rivers, or experience the thrill of an elephant ride. You can also explore the nearby Tharu villages.
