Day 1: Ethiopia North and South

Day 01: Arrival at Addis Ababa (The African Capital)

Upon arrival, your guide and driver will welcome you and drive about 15 minutes to your hotel. After check-in have sightseeing of Addis which includes visiting the National Archeological Museum of Addis Ababa; where the fossil remains of the oldest hominid – Lucy (3.25 mil years old) is sheltered at, Merkato – the largest open-air market in Africa, and finally drive to Mt. Day 2: Drive to Bahir Dar

Stop At: Bahir Dar Market, Papyrus Hotel The Opposite Of Millinium Cafe, Bahir Dar 1000 Ethiopia
Day 02: Addis – Bahirdar Today we drive 304 km north of Addis to Debre Markos visiting the Debre Libanos Monastery (13thcentury AD), which is the largest one in the country. We will have picnic lunch at the ‘Portuguese Bridge’ where you have the chance to encounter one of the endemic mammals of Ethiopia – the Gelada Baboon or the bleeding heart baboon. Cross the Blue Nile Gorge, this is comparable in scale with the American Grand Canyon, and further drive to Bahir Dar, a town on the

the shore of Lake Tana; the largest lake in Ethiopia (3,600km) for overnight.

Day 3: Drive to Blue Nile

Stop At: Blue Nile Falls, Amhara , Region Ethiopia
Day 03: Bahir Dar (The origin of the famous Blue Nile) Lake Tana is home to thirty-seven islands, of which twenty shelter churches of significant historical and cultural interest. Have a remarkable boat trip on Lake Tana to visit the island monasteries of Ura Kidane Mihret (16th century AD) and Azwa Mariam (16th century AD). These monasteries are decorated with frescos, elaborately painted ceilings, church crosses, crowns and attires of former Ethiopian kings and emperors. After lunch, drive 32 km south of Bahir Dar to Tis Isat to visit the famous Blue Nile Falls. This fall is locally known as Tis Isat, which means Smoke of fire. Then, drive back to Bahir Dar and enjoy walking and bird watching around Lake Tana. Overnight: Delano hotel (B, L, D)

Day 4: Drive to Gondar

Stop At: Fasil Ghebbi, Gonder Ethiopia
Day 04: Bahir Dar – Gondar (The Camelot of Africa In the morning after breakfast at your hotel, drive 185 km to Gondar, which was the capital of Ethiopia in the 17th and 18th centuries. After lunch, Sightseeing tour of Gondar which includes:- The ‘’ROYAL ENCLOSURE” with many majestic castles constructed in the European middle age architectural style, Bath of Fasiledes- (bathing palace): it stands in a rectangular, neatly walled depression, which is filled with water once a year for the Timkat (EPIPHANY) celebrations, and, though popularly referred to as a ‘bathing palace’ and the finest of the Gonderian churches is that of Debre Birhan Selassie or ‘Trinity at the mount of light’. Day 5: Drive to Semin Mountain National park

Stop At: Debark Town Court, Debark, Ethiopia
Day 05: Gondar – Semien Mountains National park (The roof of Africa)

In the morning drive 136 km north to Sanka Ber via Debark, the headquarters of Simien Mountains National Park. Around Sanka Ber, make short walks to visit the incredible Simien Mountains and one of the endemic mammals of Ethiopia which is the Gelada baboon or the bleeding heart as the BBC calls it and later drive to Cheneqe campsite to see the other endemic mammal called Walia Ibex. Day 6: Drive to Axum

Stop At: The Ruins of Aksum, Axum Ethiopia
Day 06: Semien Mountains National park- Axum After an early breakfast, drive 280 km to Axum through the western side of Simien mountains national park and crossing the Tekeze River Gorge.Overnight: Consular Hotel (3* hotel) (B, L, D)

Day 7: Axum (The resting place of the original ark of Moses)

Stop At: Northern Stelae Field, Near St Mary of Zion Church, Axum Ethiopia
Day 07:Axum (The resting place of the original ark of Moses) Sightseeing of the Axum that includes the visit to the Archeological Museum of Axum, the Cathedral of St. Mary of Zion which is believed to be the last resting place of the Original Ark of the Covenant, and in the afternoon visit the famous ‘Stele field’ (4th Century AD and UNESCO World Heritage Site, the ruin palace and tomb of King Kaleb and King Gebre Meskel (5th and 6th Century AD) and the residence of the legendary Queen of Sheba (9th century BC). Day 8: Drive to Mekele

Stop At: Emperor Yohannes IV Palace, Zesilasea Square, Mek'ele Ethiopia
Day 08: Axum – Mekele Drive from Axum to Mekelle through the Tigray Mountains and also the bloodiest battlefield, Adwa, on which Ethiopians won the Italian Colonizers. Enroute visit the Yeha Temple (5th Century BC), from visiting the rock-hewn churches of Abreha Atsebeha(10th Century AD) and Wukro Cherqos (10th Century AD). With a picnic lunch on the way drive 360 km to Lalibela, which is home to the incredible rock-hewn churches of King Lalibela in the 12th and 13th century whom the town is named after. Day 10: Visit of the Rock-Hewn churches of King Lalibela,

Visit of the rock-hewn churches of King Lalibela, which are unofficially regarded as ‘the eighth wonder of the world’. In the morning, visit six churches that are grouped as the first group of churches and in the afternoon visit the second and the third group of churches of Lalibela. Day 11: Drive to Dessi

Day 11: Lalibela – Dessi With lunch on the way and crossing the scenic DilbMountains, drive 300 km to Dessie. En route, stop off at various viewpoints and the Amhara people. After having lunch at Woldia, proceed driving to Dessie and stop at Haik to visits the monastery of Haik Estephanos, which is dedicated to St. Stephen and is from the 13th century AD. Day 12: Drive to Awash National Park

Stop At: Awash National Park, Ethiopia
Day 12: Dessie – Awash (through the land of “LUCY”) After breakfast drive to Awash National Park, which is 395km to the southeast. On the way game viewing at Yangudi Rassa National Park where one can see animals like; Wildass, Beisa Oryx, Anubis baboon, Hamadryas baboon, Ostrich, and many other scrub birds. After arrival and check-in at the lodge visit Awash National Park, this was established in 1966. It has a total area of 756km2, 81 recorded species of wild mammals, more than 350 species of birds. Day 15: Drive to Konso

Day 15: Arba Minch - Konso After your breakfast drive for a boat ride on Lake Chamo, where crocodiles can be seen in abundance. This place is locally known as the crocodile market since several crocodiles can be seen at a time. Hippos and plenty of birds; like storks, Egyptian goose, herons, etc. can also be seen and after the visit proceed to

Konso. The Konso people are famous for their natural resource conservation activities like terracing for water and soil conservation. They are also known for wood carving art. Visit the red soil pinnacle carved by erosion, Gesergiyo village, and Waga village for the woodcarvings erected as a mark of a tomb. Day 16: Konso - Jinka – Mursi – Turmi After early breakfast drive to Jinka and proceed through Mago National Park, This Park has a total area of 2162km Square, 84-recorded species of mammals, and 257 species of birds. Buffalo is the charismatic species of the park. Then, visit the Mursi people famous for the clay disc the female insert into their lower lips as a mark of beauty. As the larger the disc is, the more beautiful the lady is. After lunch drive to Turmi which is the village of Hamer
