Day 3: Drive to Blue Nile

Stop At: Blue Nile Falls, Amhara , Region Ethiopia
Day 03: Bahir Dar (The origin of the famous Blue Nile) Lake Tana is home to thirty-seven islands, of which twenty shelter churches of significant historical and cultural interest. Have a remarkable boat trip on Lake Tana to visit the island monasteries of Ura Kidane Mihret (16th century AD) and Azwa Mariam (16th century AD). These monasteries are decorated with frescos, elaborately painted ceilings, church crosses, crowns and attires of former Ethiopian kings and emperors. After lunch, drive 32 km south of Bahir Dar to Tis Isat to visit the famous Blue Nile Falls. This fall is locally known as Tis Isat, which means Smoke of fire. Day 4: Drive to Gondar

Day 04: Bahir Dar โ€“ Gondar (The Camelot of Africa In the morning after breakfast at your hotel, drive 185 km to Gondar, which was the capital of Ethiopia in the 17th and 18th centuries. In the morning drive 136 km north to Sanka Ber via Debark, the headquarters of Simien Mountains National Park. Around Sanka Ber, make short walks to visit the incredible Simien Mountains and one of the endemic mammals of Ethiopia which is the Gelada baboon or the bleeding heart as the BBC calls it and later drive to Cheneqe campsite to see the other endemic mammal called Walia Ibex. Konso. The Konso people are famous for their natural resource conservation activities like terracing for water and soil conservation. They are also known for wood carving art. Visit the red soil pinnacle carved by erosion, Gesergiyo village, and Waga village for the woodcarvings erected as a mark of a tomb.
