      Upon arriving in Kathmandu, the Alpine Club of Himalaya will arrange for your airport pick-up and transfer to our hotel. After checking in, you can rest in your hotel room during the late afternoon. In the evening, join us for a welcome dinner hosted by the Alpine Club of Himalaya, where youโ€™ll enjoy delicious authentic Nepalese cuisine and get an introduction to our food culture. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Sightseeing In Kathmandu

      Day 2: Sightseeing In Kathmandu

      After breakfast, weโ€™ll embark on a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu, exploring its UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Weโ€™ll start at Kathmandu Durbar Square, renowned for its exquisite Nepalese art and architecture, showcasing the grandeur of the Malla Dynasty that ruled from the 12th to the 18th century. Next, weโ€™ll visit Swayambhunath Temple, often called the Monkey Temple due to the large population of monkeys residing in the area. Then, weโ€™ll head to Pashupatinath Temple, located on the banks of the Bagmati River, and one of the principal temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Finally, weโ€™ll explore the Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest stupas in South Asia, situated along the ancient trade route to Tibet.

      After breakfast, we embark on a scenic drive to Pokhara, following the winding roads of the Prithvi Highway alongside the rushing Trishuli and Marsyangdi rivers. Upon arriving in Pokhara, take a brief rest before heading out to explore the cityโ€™s attractions. Visit the deep and narrow gorge of the roaring Seti River, the renowned Daviโ€™s Fall waterfall, and explore the intriguing Gupteshwar Cave and Bat Cave. Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the banks of Phewa Lake, where you can admire stunning views of the Himalayas. In the evening, experience the vibrant local scene by visiting various pubs and restaurants in the area.

      Today, we will visit the Galeshwor Temple, dedicated to the Hindu god Lord Shiva and perched on a single rock. From there, we will trek to Banskharka along the Annapurna trail. Banskharka is a picturesque village inhabited by the Magar community, surrounded by lush rhododendron forests and meandering streams. The village has thrived for centuries through the cultivation of mandarins, oranges, and honey, which you can learn about and taste during your visit. You will stay in a community-managed lodge and enjoy delicious local cuisine. Overnight in Banskharka.

      Today will be a fun filled day with lots of activities. Strolling in the Citrus farms meeting the farmers and observing their farming practices, while interacting with the retired British Gurkhas. There will also be a cultural program during the evening where you can enjoy the local dances with delicious tasty authentic rural Nepalese food. Overnight in Banskharka.

      Today, you have two route options. You can choose to follow a trail that passes through Banmare village, where youโ€™ll be greeted by picturesque hill landscapes and charming terraced fields at each turn. Alternatively, you can trek through dense high-altitude pine and rhododendron forests, where you might spot wild deer and a variety of birds and butterflies along the way. Regardless of your choice, weโ€™ll reach Nagi village by late afternoon. In the evening, enjoy a cultural show along with locally made food and millet liquor. Overnight will be at a community-managed lodge in Nagi.

      Nangi, a village located at an elevation of 2,330 meters, is nestled in a valley surrounded by sacred forests that host several Hindu temples. During your visit, you will explore high-altitude subsistence farming practices and discover local cottage industries, including handmade Nepali paper production, Sitka mushroom cultivation, and vegetable seed production. This journey offers a deep insight into the rich cultural heritage of the region. Overnight stay in Nangi village.

In the afternoon, engage in a 2-3 hour interaction program with teachers and students at Gram Prakash Higher Secondary School. Overnight stay in Pokhara.

      Early in the morning, weโ€™ll depart for Sarangkot, a hill offering panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges to the north and Pokhara city to the south. Here, you can witness the stunning sunrise over the majestic Himalayas. Afterward, we return to Pokhara to continue exploring the cityโ€™s landmarks.


      Weโ€™ll visit Davis Falls, a unique waterfall that flows into a narrow, seemingly endless canal. Nearby, the Shiva Cave houses a shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, a major Hindu deity. Enjoy a boat ride on Phewa Lake, the largest lake in Pokhara, and visit the Bindyabasini Temple located at its center.


      Next, explore the International Mountain Museum (IMM), which documents and chronicles the history and development of mountaineering, focusing on the Himalayas. Finally, visit the Tibetan refugee camp to see how refugees create and trade woolen carpets and other handicrafts. Overnight stay in Pokhara.
