Itinerary of your trip Prime Montenegro, Albania And Kosovo 4 Days

  • Day 1 Dubrovnik / Kotor โ€“ Budva (Montenegro) โ€“ Sveti Stefan โ€“ Shkodra (Albania)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Dubrovnik / Kotor โ€“ Budva (Montenegro) โ€“ Sveti Stefan โ€“ Shkodra (Albania)

Prepare yourself for an exhilarating Balkan escapade after immersing yourself in the medieval wonders of Dubrovnik. At the crack of dawn, precisely 7:30 am, our amiable local representative will pick you up from your hotel in Dubrovnik. They will guide you to the border, where you will rendezvous with your esteemed tour leader, ready to embark on this captivating journey. Our first stop today is the alluring Budva in Montenegro, a renowned tourist destination celebrated for its idyllic beaches, pristine natural landscapes, and captivating architecture. Budva seamlessly blends the old and the new, with the New Budva boasting modern structures, bustling shopping malls, delectable dining establishments, and vibrant bars. However, it is the Old Budva that truly steals the show, with its historical center brimming with captivating landmarks such as the St. Ivan church, the quaint St. Mary church, and the medieval splendors of the old town. Allow yourself to be transported back in time as we delve into the charm of this ancient enclave. En route to Albania, we will make a brief stop near Sveti Stefan, a once humble fishing village nestled on a small island just off the coast. While it is no longer accessible as an island due to its transformation into an exclusive residential resort, its mere sight from the shoreline remains a breathtaking spectacle, begging to be immortalized through the lens of your camera. Crossing the border from Montenegro, we arrive in Shkoder, Albania, nestled in the northwestern part of the country and lending its name to the largest lake in the Balkans. With a storied history spanning millennia, Shkoder stands as one of Albania's oldest cities. The ancient walls of Shkodra castle, dating back to the 1st millennium BCE, bear witness to its enduring legacy. Renowned Roman historian Livy once proclaimed this town as the capital of the Illyrian king Gent, who valiantly clashed with the Romans in 168 B.C. Our visit to Rozafa castle grants us awe-inspiring vistas of the lake, as three rivers gracefully merge into the majestic Adriatic Sea. Shkoder's architectural landscape bears the unmistakable influence of Venetian aesthetics, a captivating fusion that enchants visitors. Those fortunate enough to join us in February might even witness the vibrant carnival festival, as Shkoder is a hotbed for the creation of handmade Venetian masks. Throughout the centuries, Shkoder's strategic geographic position facilitated bustling trade and cultural exchanges between diverse civilizations. With the day drawing to a close, we settle in for a restful overnight stay in Shkoder, rejuvenating ourselves for the adventures that lie ahead.

  • Day 2 Shkodra โ€“ Prizren (Kosovo)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Shkodra โ€“ Prizren (Kosovo)

Our journey continues as we make our way to Prizren, a city widely hailed as the cultural capital of Kosovo. Prizren beckons with its compelling blend of rich history, breathtaking natural landscapes, unwavering religious tolerance, and a gastronomic scene that tantalizes the taste buds. With its roots tracing back to an ancient Illyrian settlement, Prizren emerged as a pivotal crossroad between the Byzantine and Ottoman empires, leaving an indelible mark on its unique architectural tapestry. The city's beating heart lies along the meandering river that gracefully flows through the old town, traversing beneath a network of picturesque bridges. For those seeking a vibrant international experience, a visit to Prizren in August is a must, as the medieval city transforms into a bustling hub for one of the world's most renowned short film festivals, Dokufest. As you explore the town, allow yourself to get lost amidst its charming streets, where elegant medieval houses vie for your attention, each with its own compelling story to tell. Prizren takes immense pride in its filigree artisanal traditions, particularly in crafting exquisite pieces using precious metals. Don't miss the chance to immerse yourself in the unique shopping experience offered by the town's many filigree shops, where you can witness the magic of metalsmithing come to life before your eyes. While there are numerous mosques to explore, the Sinan Pasha Mosque stands out with its resplendent arabesque colors and intricate patterns, inviting visitors to marvel at its exquisite beauty. For a truly awe-inspiring perspective of this remarkable city, ascend the hill to the fortress, where you'll be rewarded with a breathtaking panorama that captures the essence of Prizren's charm. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon, free to explore Prizren at your own pace, taking in the captivating sights, sounds, and flavors that define this extraordinary destination. As the day draws to a close, we settle in for a tranquil overnight stay, allowing the magic of Prizren to weave its spell upon us.

  • Day 3 Prizren โ€“ Kruja (Albania) โ€“ Tirana
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Prizren โ€“ Kruja (Albania) โ€“ Tirana

Today, we bid farewell to Kosovo and return to Albania, making our way to the historically significant city of Kruja. This enchanting city stands as a symbol of Albanian resistance against the expanding Ottoman Empire during the 15th century. Nestled amidst a rugged mountainous landscape, Kruja sits proudly at an elevation of 560 meters above sea level on the slopes of Sarisalltik Mountain. As we navigate its narrow streets and traverse the ancient wooden houses that line the Medieval Old Bazaar, one of the largest and oldest in the Balkans, we are transported through the annals of history. This bustling marketplace is the perfect haven for souvenir enthusiasts, offering an array of typical and unique handmade treasures, from carpets to jewelry and beyond. A highlight of our time in Kruja is the commanding castle, constructed during the 5th century A.D. Strategically perched atop a rocky hill, the castle's formidable positioning made it a formidable challenge for enemies attempting to breach its defenses. Accompanied by our knowledgeable tour leader, we will uncover the secrets of the castle, traversing hidden paths that locals once used to discreetly exit the fortress during times of siege. After immersing ourselves in Kruja's historical riches, we'll have ample free time to savor a delectable traditional lunch, indulge in some souvenir shopping, or simply bask in the city's enchanting ambiance. Our journey continues to Tirana, the vibrant capital of Albania. We embark on a leisurely stroll toward Skanderbeg Square, named in honor of the revered Albanian national hero, Gjergj Kastrioti Skรซnderbeu. The square stands as a testament to the city's grandeur, surrounded by noteworthy landmarks such as the National Museum, the Bank of Albania, the Opera House, the Skanderbeg Statue, the Ethem Beu Mosque, and trendy bars that infuse the area with energy. As we meander through the lively streets of Tirana, we venture to BUNKART, an enthralling museum that holds a unique place in the city. Originally designed as a nuclear bunker to shelter the Albanian communist supreme leader, Enver Hoxha, and his inner circle during the Cold War, this secret facility was unveiled to the public in 2016 when the Albanian government transformed it into a captivating museum. BUNKART offers a multimedia exhibition that delves into the history of the Albanian communist army and provides insights into the daily lives of Albanians during the regime. Our exploration continues with a visit to Tirana Castle, nestled in the heart of the city. Now transformed into a pedestrian street, this captivating area seamlessly blends modern and traditional elements, epitomizing the essence of contemporary Tirana. Our final destination for the day is the colorful, lively, and vibrant Blloku Neighborhood, a must-see for those seeking a glimpse into the city's dynamic spirit. Let us not forget the delightful culinary offerings that Tirana has in store, ranging from delectable and affordable street food to the finest gourmet options. As dusk settles, we retire for a restful overnight stay in Tirana, cherishing the memories of our incredible journey through Montenegro, Albania, and Kosovo.
