Before the rise of the Angkor, this was the capital of Chenla during the sixth century, known as Isanapura. Today over 100 small temple ruins sit peacefully in a forest setting. Explore the main central complex and gain an insight into the early architectural styles of Cambodia. On the way, youโ€™ll visit archeological โ€œNaga Bridgeโ€ at Kompong Kdei.

You will have the opportunity to learn more about these terrible years, through visits to the infamous Tuol Sleng Museum of Genocidal Crimes and Cheung Ek, better known as the โ€˜Killing Fieldsโ€™. It is an incredibly moving experience, but these are two visits you will be glad to have made. During your visit to Cambodia, you will barely meet a single person who didnโ€™t lose a member of their family during these years, yet they are all willing to talk openly about it with you.
