  • Day 1 Day 1: Arrival In Kathmandu (1400 Meters) & Transfer To Hotel.

      On your arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted by a representative from Sherpa Expedition and Trekking and taken to your respective hotels in Thamel, followed by a short briefing regarding the Dhaulagiri trek, hotels, and lodges on the route.  

  • Day 2 Day 2: Free In Kathmandu For Sightseeing And Pre-Trip Briefing And Gear Check.

      Day 2: Free In Kathmandu For Sightseeing And Pre-Trip Briefing And Gear Check.

      We will spend part of the day sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley with our guide. We will head to Pashupatinath Temple, considered to be the holiest Hindu temple in Nepal and where pilgrims worship Lord Shiva (located on the banks of the holy Bagmati River), Bouddhanath, a Buddhist temple known as โ€˜Little Tibetโ€™ and then to Swayambhunath known as the Monkey Temple. From Swayambhunath we will drive to Kathmanduโ€™s renowned Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed site that is located in front of the old royal palace. After arriving back to your hotel you will have time to do some last-minute shopping around Thamel โ€“ the tourist hub of Kathmandu. Whilst back at your hotel your guide will help you prepare for your trek.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Drive To Babiachor Via Beni (950 Meters) Duration 10-11 Hours.

      This morning we will drive to Babiachor via Beni, a trip of between 10 and 11 hours, giving you plenty of time to admire the scenery along the route. Beni is the district headquarters of this region and has a police check point where your trekking permits will be examined. We cross a bridge to the south bank of the river and then loop back before crossing another bridge close to Simalchour Village. Eventually we come to Babiachor after long road trip. We will stay here overnight in a tent.

      The valley widens out and we have terraced farms on both sides of the river. It is not too difficult a trek before we arrive at Shahashradhara Village, from where we cross the Myagdi Khola (river) and trek through fields before arriving at Ratorunga Village. We continue on and will come to tonightโ€™s destination, Dharapani, where we will stay in a tent.

      This morning we cross the Myagdi Khola to the west bank and start some serious uphill trekking until we reach the ridge. We continue along the trail and pass Sibang and Mattie villages and then descend again to Gatti Khola  and then arrive at Phalai Gaon (1810meters). We then climb up the ridge to the Magar village of Muri where we will set up our tents for the night.

      This morning the trail leads us up to the ridge and then descends to Juge Pani where we will stop for lunch. After lunch we will head up a steep trail and discover we are really high above the valley below. The trail follows winds a cliff edge and after about an hour walking we reach Boghara Village where we camp for the night.

      Today we hit the trail and head through cultivated farmlands while ascending to the ridge. The trail then becomes a little less physically demanding, and then we reach Lipshe Village where we stop for lunch. We then follow the trail through dense forest for about two to three hours until we arrive at Dobang Village where we camp for the night.

      We start out today by crossing a wooden bridge out of Dobang and then ascend through a forest. Not long after we have views of the west face of Dhaulagiri I (8167m) through gaps in the forest. We now head down to the Myagdi Khola and cross via another wooden bridge to the east bank and follow the trail to Chartare Village. We pass through forests again and cross a rocky area and stream to Choriban Khola where we will camp overnight.

  • Day 9 Day 9: Trek To Italian Base Camp (3,660 Meters) Duration 6-7 Hours.

      Today we have to cross the moraine at the base of the Chhonbardan Glacier and then enter the glacier from the right. Tukuche Peak (6837m) is clearly visible in the distance and the imposing north flank of Dhaulagiri I (8167m) fills the sky to our right. In the west we can see the peaks of Dhaulagiri II (7751meters), Dhaulagiri III (7715 meters) and Dhaulagiri V (7618 meters). We then come to Italian Base Camp (3660 meters) where we will camp for the night. 

  • Day 10 Day 10: Acclimatization And Rest Day.

      Today is set aside to acclimatize before heading to higher altitudes. It is recommended that you stay active during the day to help you better acclimatize. We will camp here overnight. 

  • Day 11 Day 11: Trek To Glacier Camp (4210 Meters) Duration 5- 6 Hours.

      In the early morning light we follow the trail through a narrow gorge, where we have to watch for rocks falling. We will set up camp tonight near the glacier. 

  • Day 12 Day 12: Trek To Dhaulagiri Base Camp (4740 Meters) Duration 6-7 Hours.

      This is definitely an exciting day as we head higher to Dhaulagiri Base Camp from where you can gaze up at the impressive north face of Dhaulagiri I (8167m) that fills the sky on your right. In the west are peaks of Dhaulagiri II (7751meters), Dhaulagiri III (7715 meters), and Dhaulagiri V (7618 meters). Directly in front of us is the remarkable glacier that descends from the northeast col. We will camp here overnight.

  • Day 13 Day 13: Acclimatization And Rest Day.

      It is essential that we spend another day acclimatizing before heading higher. 

  • Day 14 Day 14: Cross French Pass (5360 Meters) & Trek To Hidden Valley (5200 Meters) Duration 6-7 Hours.

      have to cross a moraine and then up to the ridge through the snow to French Pass. After crossing the pass we head down to Hidden Valley on the other side of Dhaulagiri where we set up camp for the night. 

  • Day 15 Day 15: Cross Dhampus Pass (5200 Meters), And Trek To Yak Kharka (3,680 Meters) Duration 6-7 Hours.

      This morning we descend from Hidden Valley to Dhampus Pass and continue on to Yak Kharka where there is an ideal campsite for our overnight stay.

      This morning we take the trail leading to Marpha situated on the west bank of the Kali Gandaki River. Marpha is home to numerous apple orchards and also makes brandy and apple ciders that you can sample, We continue on up the valley until we come to Jomson where we camp overnight.

  • Day 17 Day 17: Fly To Pokhara (850 Meters) & Transfer To Hotel.

      This morning we have a scenic flight above the mountainous terrain as we head back to Pokhara and check in at our hotel. We can either put our feet up and rest or stroll around the city shopping area, or alternatively sit beside Phew Tal (lake) and admire the distant Annapurna Mountains. 

  • Day 18 Day 18: Drive Back To Kathmandu (1400 Meters) Duration 6-7 Hours.

      This morning we head off at 7.30 am. by tourist bus for Kathmandu. We expect to arrive back in Kathmandu at around 2-3.00 p.m. We will take you back to your hotels in Thamel where you can sit back and relax, or otherwise wander around Thamel and do some last-minute shopping.

      Today is a free day where you can choose to visit places you may have missed when you arrived, or head off to the market areas of the city to shop for some last-minute bargains. Your guide will be available to assist you.
