  • Day 1 Day 1: Arrival In Kathmandu Transfer To Hotel.

      On arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be met by a Sherpa Expedition and Trekking representative and taken to your respective hotels and followed by a briefing regarding the Dhaulagiri trek.  

  • Day 2 Day 2: Full Day Of Sightseeing Of Kathmandu Valley

      Day 2: Full Day Of Sightseeing Of Kathmandu Valley

      Today is a day for sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley with our guide. We will visit: Pashupatinath, regarded as the holiest Hindu temple in Nepal and a place where pilgrims worship Lord Shiva (situated on the banks of the holy Bagmati River), Bouddhanath, a Buddhist temple known as โ€˜Little Tibetโ€™ and then on to Swayambhunath known locally as the Monkey Temple. From Swayambhunath we will drive to Kathmanduโ€™s legendary Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed site, and located in front of the old royal palace. After arriving back at your hotel you will have time to do some final shopping around Thamel โ€“ the tourist hub of Kathmandu. At your hotel, your guide will help you prepare for your trek.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Drive From Kathmandu To Beni (8,50M) Duration 8-9 Hours.

      This morning we will drive for eight to nine hours until we arrive at Beni. The road passes through numerous villages and has several rest stops where we can have meals and refreshments. Tonight we stay in a tent in Beni.

      After leaving Beni and the Kali Gandaki (river) we follow the north side of the Myagdi Khola (river) passing by Mangalghat, Singa and on then to Tatopani (hot springs).  We then cross the bridge over to the south bank of the river and then head to Simalchour Village where we camp overnight.

  • Day 5 Day 5: Babiachor To Dharapani (1,400M) Duration 5-6 Hours.

      The five to six-hour trek today takes us through the valley and along the banks of the river. The first village we come to is Shahashradhara. From here we cross the Duk Khola (river) and continue until we reach Ratorunga Village from where the valley becomes a lot narrower. We keep on trekking up through the valley until we arrive at Dharapani where we will camp overnight.

      Today we follow the trail for about five hours and climb to higher elevations passing Sibang and Mattim villages before heading back down to Gatti Khola and Phalai Gaon villages. We will then cross the Dhara Khola (river) on to the west bank of the Myagdi Khola (river) and then descend to the Magar village of Muri where we will set up camp for the night.

      We hit the trail today and head up to the ridge and then descend to Juge Pani where we will stop for lunch. After lunch, we climb up a steep trail and then find ourselves high above the valley. The trail follows along the edge of the cliff, and after about an hour we reach Boghara Village where we camp for the night.

      Today we pass through cultivated fields while climbing up to the ridge. The trail becomes a little less tiring and then we reach Lipshe Village where we will stop for lunch. We then trek through dense forest for about two to three hours before coming to Dobang Village where we will set up camp for the night.

      Today we follow the trail for about five hours and first have to cross a wooden bridge and then ascend through a forest. Shortly afterwards we will have some awesome views of the west face of Dhaulagiri I (8167m). We then head down to the Myagdi Khola and continue to Chartare Village.  After once again passing through an area of forest we reach Choriban Khola where we stay overnight in a tent.

      Today we follow the trail to the moraine at the base of the Chhonbardan Glacier and then cross the glacier from the right to the left. Tukuche Peak (6837m) is directly ahead of us and to the right is the brilliant north flank of Dhaulagiri I (8167m). After a short time, we arrive at Italian Base Camp where we set up our tents for the night. From this vantage point we have astonishing views of Mt. Dhaulagiri II (7751m), Dhaulagiri III (7715m) and Dhaulagiri V (7618m). 

  • Day 11 Day 11: Acclimatization And Rest Day At Italian Base Camp.

      Acclimatization is vitally important for your safety before heading to higher elevations. Medical professionals strongly recommend that you stay active during the day, so we will take a short trek around and beyond Italian Camp to help with the acclimatization process. We will camp here for the night.

  • Day 12 Day 12: Italian Base Camp To Glacier Camp (4,210M) Duration 5-6 Hours.

      We have to be up early today as we have a six hour trek in front of us. The weather is usually better suited to climbing in the early morning hours. The trail today passes through a narrow gorge where rock-falls are not unusual, hence we need to stay alert. We will stop at Glacier Camp and set up our tents for the night.

      This is a hard day on the trail as we ascend to Dhaulagiri Base Camp. From here the north face of Dhaulagiri I (8167 meters) dominates the skyline, and to the west are Dhaulagiri II (7751m), Dhaulagiri III (7715m) and Dhaulagiri V (7618m). These gigantic peaks are awesome and right in front of your eyes! Directly ahead of us is the impressive glacier that descends from the north east. Tonight we set up camp here at Dhaulagiri Base Camp.

      It is important that we take a break here and again acclimatize before heading to higher elevations. Again, it is recommended that we remain as active as possible. The views from here are simply out of this world.

  • Day 15 Day 15: Dhaulagiri Base Camp To Hidden Valley (5,120M) Via French Pass (5,360M) Duration 7-8 Hours.

      A six to seven-hour trek lies before us today, and because of the higher altitude will be physically more challenging. We start by crossing a moraine and then come to a ridge that heads up to the snowy slopes heading up to French Pass. We cross the pass and head into the Hidden Valley on the other side of Dhaulagiri where we make camp for the night.

      Today we ascend back to the same height of French Pass, at the other end of the valley, and then trek at this higher altitude until coming to the slightly lower Dhampus Pass. Once through the pass we descend to our overnight camp at Yak Kharka. 

  • Day 17 Day 17: Yak Kharka To Jomsom (2,736M) Duration 5-6 Hours.

      This morning we head out on the trail and have a steep descent that takes us to Marpha. We continue north up the river valley to the town of Jomsom and camp here overnight.

  • Day 18 Day 18: Fly From Jomsom To Pokhara (8,50M) & Transfer To Hotel Duration 30 Minutes.

      We fly above the mountainous landscape and head back on a scenic flight to Pokhara and then check in to our hotel. We can either put our feet up and relax or stroll around the city shopping area, or alternatively sit beside Phew Tal (lake) and admire the distant Annapurna Mountains as the sunsets. 

  • Day 19 Day 19: Leisure Day And Sightseeing Around Pokhara.

      We have scheduled in a spare day in the event that bad weather in Jomsom prevents us from flying. If we do have this spare day you can choose to wander around Pokhara and maybe head across the lake to the Peace Pagoda or take a boat trip on the lake. Pokhara has many lovely cafes on the lakeside where you can hang out and look over the lake.

  • Day 20 Day 20: Drive From Pokhara To Kathmandu (1,350M) Duration 6-7 Hours.

      Today we can sit back, relax and take in the scenery on our return trip to Kathmandu, which will take about six to seven hours. We will drop you back at your hotels,

      Your adventure comes to an end today โ€“ but your memories will last forever. A representative from Sherpa Expedition and Trekking will take you to the airport approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. On your way home youโ€™ll have plenty of time to plan your next adventure and return to explore the mountains of Nepal.
