Scheduled flight from Frankfurt or Munich to Colombo, where you will arrive the next morning.

Upon arrival in Colombo, the tour guide will be greeted. Transfer from the airport to your hotel to Negombo. (Check-in at the hotel usually from 14:00). The first day is free for you to arrive relaxed or for your first exploration in Negombo. Negombo has a few more buildings, the fort and churches from Dutch and Portuguese colonial days. The well-known backdrop on Negombo beach is fishermen's catamarans, who later auction their fishing or lobster, crabs and shrimp from the lagoon on the beach or in the harbor.

Breakfast at the hotel. The tour starts at 9.30 a.m. Visit the 5th century rock fortress of Sigiriya and World Heritage site, which was built under King Cassapa's rule (AD 477-495). The hard-to-reach monolith rises 180 metres above the tropical landscape, the remains of artificial gardens and the well-known mural of cloud girls will fascinate her. In the upper part, the rock has the shape of a dormant lion, of which only the mighty paws are left. At the foot of the rock fortress were ditches that could be flooded in the event of an attack.
