Day 1 Arrival (Cmb) - Colombo

Arrival (Cmb) - Colombo

When you arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport, go through immigration, collect your luggage, and proceed to the exit. A Holiday Lanka representative who will be your driver during the tour will be waiting for you at the exit. Colombo is your first stop on this Sri Lanka bird-watching tour. After a short tour of the city, you will check into the Hotel for the night.
Day 2 Colombo - Sinharaja

Colombo - Sinharaja

The next morning you will begin a four-hour drive to Sinharaja and check into a hotel for two nights. The same afternoon, we organized a bird-watching tour for you in the Sinharaya Rainforest. There are about 280 species of birds in Sinharaja, including 34 rare birds. There is a lot to see around to do, at the end of the visit back to the hotel.

Day 4 Sinharaja - Yala

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the hotel in Tissamaharama. In the afternoon, a jeep will take you to visit Yala National Park. At around 6:00 pm, you will be returned to your hotel to rest for the evening.
Day 5 Yala

Early morning bird-watching tour in Bundala National Park. This national park is internationally recognized as a wintering ground for Sri Lanka’s migratory birds. About 197 species of birds are found here; so we advise you to make good use of your whole day at Bundala National Park.
Day 6 Yala - Nuwara Eliya

Next morning you will depart for Nuwara Eliya and check into the Hotel to freshen up. In the afternoon we planned a bird-watching walk at the Hakgala Botanical Garden. These parks are one of the best places to see migratory birds during the northeast monsoon and some mountain birds.
Day 7 Nuwara Eliya - Horton Plains - Nuwara Eliya

Early in the morning, you will visit Horton Plains, National Park. It’s a 9.5km nature trail, including stops for stunning views of the World’s End and the mighty Bakers Falls.
Day 8 Nuwara Eliya - Kitulgala

Nuwara Eliya - Kitulgala

Kitulgala is your next destination, just 2-3 hours south of Nuwara Eliya. In Kitulgala you will explore the ancient Belilena cave area to see unique bird species. Palm Stone Retreat will be your accommodation for the night.
Day 9 Kitulgala - Negombo

Kitulgala - Negombo

After breakfast, you will visit the Makandawa Rainforest in Kitulgala for another bird-watching experience and then proceed to Negombo - the final destination of the tour. In Negombo, you will check in at the Hotel, after which in the evening you are scheduled for an interesting boat trip on the Muthurajawela Marsh. This is a wetland at the southern end of the Negombo Lagoon and boating here is a great experience for bird lovers.
Day 10 Negombo - Departure (Cmb)
