Day 2: Experience Hanoi’S History Up Close (B)

Experience today the vibrant metropolis of Hanoi, which impresses with magnificent colonial buildings and pagodas. In the morning you will visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum as well as the former residence of the legendary politician, in which he lived from 1958 - 1969. Afterwards you will visit the most important literary temple of Vietnam as well as the legendary Chua Mot Cot, also called the "One Pillar Pagoda". You will take a drive around the beautiful Hoan Kiem Lake and visit the so-called "Jade Mountain Temple", the Ngoc Son Temple. Then take a one-hour rickshaw ride through Hanoi’s Old Quarter, one of the most beautiful in Asia. A performance of the Water Puppet Theater will round out this day.

Today you will take a boat trip on the beautiful Huong River, also called "Perfume River", to the Thien Mu Pagoda, which is worth seeing. With the imposing Phuoc Duyen Tower, this pagoda is the highest in Vietnam. Afterwards, you will visit the legendary Imperial Palace and tour the venerable imperial city of Hue. Visiting the Trang Tien Bridge and the Dong Ba Market in Hue’s Old Quarter, you will gain unique insights into the exciting Vietnamese culture and cuisine. This will be followed by a visit to the unique Nguyen Dynasty Imperial Tomb. Transfer to the hotel.

Continue to Hoi An with a stop at the 496 m high Cloud Pass, the weather divide between the subtropical north and tropical south. This day you will still see the kilometer long beach of Lang Co and the marble mountains in Da Nang.

In the morning, you will visit the Japanese Bridge, Phuc Koen Pagoda, Chinese Quarter and a lantern workshop. Afterwards, you will start for a bike tour to Tra Que village with your guide. There, a short walk will take you through the farm vegetable garden: watch the farmers working in the fields. Afterwards, relax with a short foot bath and foot massage before preparing lunch yourself. In the afternoon, you will still learn about the vegetable harvest, after which you will say goodbye to your hosts and drive back to the hotel.

Red Bridge Cooking Class with Boat Tour in Hoi An (morning) - English Guided
In the morning, you will meet the chef of Red Bridge Restaurant for a personally guided shopping tour in the market. Here you will experience Hoi An firsthand, getting glimpses into the bustling life, foreign sounds and scents of the city and its markets. You will trade with the merchants and buy fresh ingredients for your lunch. After shopping, a boat will take you to the Red Bridge Cooking School on the Hoi An River. There you will learn and learn a lot about Vietnamese herbs, spices, ingredients as well as the art of decoration. The chef will show you how to prepare some of the most delicious Vietnamese dishes. Afterwards, under his guidance, you may get "creative" yourself and prepare Vietnamese and Hoi An specialties for yourself on the table.

My Son ½ day trip

Excursion to the hills of Ba Na with a visit to the Golden Bridge
This morning, your guide will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the hills of Ba Na, about 25 kilometers from Da Nang. The region served as an aerial health resort for the former French colonial rulers, but quickly fell into oblivion after the occupation forces left. Only the construction of an amusement park awakened the region from its slumber, which can only be reached by a cable car that climbs almost 1500 meters above sea level. At the top you will visit Le Jardin Garden D’Amour, Luna Castle , Sun Palace and of course the famous Golden Bridge. The 150 meter long pedestrian bridge, supported on two giant hands, offers a picturesque view of the tropical rainforest of the Ba Na Hills.
From the Ba Na Hills, you will take a direct route to Da Nang Airport for your onward flight to Saigon.

Today you will take a trip to the Mekong Delta. This region is the southernmost in Vietnam and is also known as the "bread basket", as rice for the whole country is grown here. You will drive to Ben Tre and start your boat trip on the Mekong River. You will stop at a small farm to taste delicious local fruits and tea. By rickshaw you will go to a nice place to have your lunch. Continue by small boats on the narrow waterways back to Ben Tre and transfer back to Saigon.
