Campsite: thanks to the perfect organization of our cook(s) and muleteer(s), you will be able to rest after a good day of hiking! Are you sure! We have a kitchen tent, a dining tent, a bathroom tent. For two people, we provide a 3-person tent for added comfort. We also put at your disposal a comfortable mattress and a basin with hot water at the beginning and end of the day for your toilet; and of course, we prepare hot and complete meals for you.

  • Day 1 Day 1: Cusco โ€“ Capuliyoc โ€“ Playa

      Day 1: Cusco โ€“ Capuliyoc โ€“ Playa

      At 5:00 am, we pick you up at your hotel and then drive you for 4 hours in our private van to Capuliyoc (3100mt/10,170ft). Along the way there are spectacular views of villages, valleys, and snow-capped mountains. Once there we meet our horsemen and pack all of our equipment onto the horses. From here, we can enjoy the spectacular view of Choquequirao Inca ruins, the Apurimac canyon and the stunning snow-capped mountains like Padreyoc (5,571m/18,387ft). Then we hike down for 3 hours to Chikisca for lunch. After lunch we continue on for 2 hours downhill to our first camp at la Playa Rosalinas.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Playa โ€“ Maranpata โ€“ Choquequirao

      Day 2: Playa โ€“ Maranpata โ€“ Choquequirao

      After an early breakfast, we cross the bridge and hike for the next 4 hours all the way up to Marampata where we will have lunch enjoying the view of Choquequirao Inca ruins. After lunch we walk to our second eveningโ€™s campsite, just 20 minutes from the ruins. Being so close to the ruins, we can enjoy our view of the ruins into the late evening and watch for condors flying about.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Choquequirao

      Day 3: Choquequirao

      After breakfast, we will visit the magnificent archeological site of Choquequirao for the entire day. Enjoy the private guided tour and explore all of the beautiful sections of the temples, terraces, palaces, the llamasโ€™ section, and much more. We will return to our same campsite for tea and spend the night.

      Choquekirao it is located high on a ridge spur almost 1750 meters above the raging glacier-fed Apurimac River and is surrounded by the towering Salkantay and Humantay snow-capped peaks. Excavations and restoration of the 1810 hectares site began in the 1990s, and it is estimated that only 30% of the site has been restored to date. Every day archeologists are finding new things.

      This morning we say goodbye to the Choquequiraw ruins, and have a chance to spot condors soaring through the morning air as we make our way back along the choquequirao trail. Following the edge of the Apurimac canyon, we first descend to the river 1520m/4986ft, and then continue hiking up to our campsite at chiquisca 1950m/6397ft. If you have a good pace or if you have added the Machupicchu trek extension, we may camp instead at Cocamasana 2450m/8038ft

      Day 5: Chiquisca โ€“ Cusco

      This morning we finish our Choquequiraw hike with a 3 to 4 hours climb upwards to Capuliyoc. When we reach our destination, weโ€™re once again rewarded with spectacular views. Our car will be waiting here to pick us up to start the 5-hour drive back to Cusco. We will have lunch in route, arriving back to your hotel in Cusco.
