Arrival at Catania Fontanarossa airport rental car and our advice is a Catania walking tour: don't forget to visit the old fish market, the “Pescheria” and beautiful market (all mornings except on Sunday) which cheers up a large square in the city center rich in colors and typicality.  Catania, a beautiful city located at the foot of Etna and in the middle of a fertile citrus cultivated plain. Discovering Piazza del Duomo, where the main arteries of the city converge, via Etnea and via Vittorio Emanuele, the fountain of the elephant, the symbol of the city. On the eastern side of the square you can admire the Baroque Cathedral, dedicated to Saint Agatha. Visit of the Town Hall, also known as Elephants Palace, made by Vaccarini, Elephants Palace, made by Vaccarini, The Amenano fountain, fed by the waters of the underground rivers that crosses the city, behind which sprawls Catania’s loud and colorful fish market, the soul of the city. Visit of Via dei Crociferi, one of the most beautiful streets of Italy, with noble palaces, convents and churches, represents the highest expression of Baroque Catania. The tour will end in Piazza Stesicoro, where you can admire the ancient Roman amphitheater and the monument dedicated to Vincenzo Bellini. Further to the reserved accommodation and time at leisure. Typical street food as dinner. Return to the hotel overnight.

Breakfast at the hotel and mornings dedicated to visiting the highest active volcano in Europe. A trip to Etna, up to 1725m, with a view of Valle del Bove. 9.00 am departure to Etna experience, at 10.00 am arrival at Etna Sud station, Rifugio Sapienza, and visit to the Crateri Silvestri (1890 mt), little craters created during the 1892 eruption.  We will walk along a simple path, and we will see in front of us the wonderful panorama of the 'sciara', the endless valleys of black land created by the Volcano over the centuries and, beyond this, the Ionian coast from Taormina to Syracuse; we will also be able to admire interesting examples of volcanic bombs.  Then we will look out from the stunning viewpoint of Monte Pomiciaro (1472 mt) to admire the awesome Valle del Bove, a huge valley created by the collapse of an ancient volcanic building 8.000 years ago. In front of us the summit craters will also be clearly visible between the clouds, often making their voices heard, with roars and explosions of ash.  Stop for honey, wine and other typical products tasting at a bio farm in Zafferana Etna, and visit of the advanced lava front of the great eruption of 1991-1993 which arrived a few hundred meters from the town. At 2.00 pm lunch and tasting at a winery with a visit to the cellars. On the way down, still fulfilled by our volcano experience, we will have the chance to admire wonderful Sicilian apiaries.  Our Advise: Visit to Zafferana Etnea. Return to the hotel overnight.
