There’s a poetic sense of mystery in any mountain, it’s the genetic instinct to reach its summit to stay closer to the One, to the Sky, to the Sun and to the Moon. The grandeur of the highest and the most active volcano in Europe fills as with awe, it’s seductive and fascinating, though worrying and frightening at the same time. It destroys and creates, it alludes to the endless cycle of life through a constant renewal, where the new is simply a transformation of the old. This process symbolizes the mystery of creation described in the primitive religions with the archaic vegetative myths about “the mother of all things”. Capricious Etna plays many jokes to locals, they are helpless in worshiping their “Mongibel”. The beautiful mount still waits for the return of Ulysses whose cinematic appearance fires modern imagination. Barocco area is a real “Island within the island” where you are captured by the warmth and courtesy of the people. The reality is immersed in an atmosphere between the past and the present, in the experience of unforgettable emotions. The majestic facades of the noble constructions with enormous, well-moulded pillars, nooks containing statues and beautiful baroque style decorations. The splendid architecture recall memories of the royal glory once existed in the Valley. The earthquake of 1693 modified the Medieval County in a dynamic part of Sicily, leaving untouched the prehistoric beauty of Ispica park with caves and churches in the grotto.
Day 3 Roman And Greek Heritage

Piazza Armerica is a unique area where the Roman Villa del Casale is perfectly preserved. The villa is the biggest mosaic complex with private termal baths, gym area, banketting hall, basilica. Hystorians are still arguing who was the owner of this Villa, no answer. Though mysterious mosaic speaks to us claiming for a very sophsticated taste of the onwer. We stop for lunch in a rural area in the heart of Sicily, in a country side with small houses and lovely atmosphere. It'sa family run restaurant, Mamma is at the kitchen and two sons and cousins serve their guests, daily menu, fresh home-made pasta, local wine and the best cannoli. While enjoying your Sicilian siesta, we brong you to another fantastic location, The Valley of Temples, in Agrigento. If you want to see the perfectly preserve dorian temples, Sicily is the right destination. The Sacred road brings you to the perfectly preserved Temple of Concordia, to the Temple of Zeus and the arcaic Sicilian shrines.
Day 4 Erice And Trapani Saline

We bring you to the ancient Elymian and Phoenician site, Erice. Settled on the top of the rock, it enjoys a great defensive position, breathtaking views to the minor islands, valleys. The modern town is settled next to the Venus Castle. Strange but fascinating landscapes of that area represent the peculiar environment where history, culture and nature create something unique. Saturn, the God of agriculture came down from Olympus to found Erice, the shape of a scythe. This Sicilian coasts separate the Tyrrhenian and the Mediterrenean Seas creating intense shades of colours and colourful hints playing an intriguing game with our imagination. We are to taste there the best genovesi biscuits, home-made and to accompany with a glass of nice marsala.

Byzantine Heritage: Mosaics Of Plaermo And Monreale

Monreale and Palermo are two great areas for the Norman - Arab - Byzantine culture, the civilization resulted from numerous exchanges in the cultural and scientific fields. This area is an example of tolerance and enlightment characterized by its multi-ethnic composition and unusual religious tolerance. All these reflects in unique art which incorporated the basis of Arab and Byzanthine arts, like inlays in mosaics or metals, sculpture of ivory or porphyry, hard stone pieces, broze foundries, manufacture of silk. We visit the Cathedral of Monreale, famous for tis Byzanthine style mosaics, unsually representing the Old Tastement scenes, christian churches erected according to the tradition Islamic architecture canons. We won't miss the street food experience in Ballarò street amrket of Palermo, which is a fulfilment of colors, parfumes and authentic atmosphere.
Day 6 The Legendary Area

The Legendary Area

We stop for a lovely stroll in Cefalù, a lovely town with the Medieval Cathedral and gorgeous embarkment. Good time to taste the best ice-cream in Sicily. Taormina is a flourishing garden with figs, grapes, pomegranates, peaches, almond trees, purple anemones, hibiscus and salvia; it gives you the sense of the interaction between humanity and nature, feeling of wonder and of historical pain. Its historical roots are older than the Greeks’ arrival in Sicily. There’ is no doubt that the role of Taormina was significant for the island, thus Pliny the Elder, a great intender and connoisseur of good Italian wines, noted Taormina for its excellent wine. The present town is literally built on the ancient site, on a lofty hill which forms the projecting view to Etna and to the Ionian coast. On our way to Taormina will stop for a coffee in the most famous village, Savoca, a great location the Godfather film shooting.
Day 7 The Superb Moon

It's our relaxing day to enjoy the best of Sicily, to reflect on what we have been visiting in this week, how big our island is and how many treasures it preserves for us. It's time to say Arrivederci Italia!
