      We start today with a tour of Casablanca, Morocco's economic capital. We'll visit the central market, the exterior of the Royal Palace, the Habous disctrict, Mohamed V Square, the Anfa residential area and the exterior of the impressive Hassan II Mosque on the seafront. After leaving Casablanca we drive to the Berber town of Meknes. Formerly the capital of Morocco during the reign of Moulay Ismail, he transformed the town, constructing intricate gateways, beautiful gardens and at 40km the longest ramparts in the country. We'll see the Bab Mansour Gate, the Royal Stables and the Jewish quarter. Our next stop is then for a panoramic view of the holy city of Moulay Idriss on our way to the ancient Roman city of Volubilis. Recently listed as a UNESCO world heritage site and dating back as far as AD40, Volubilis is home to some of the most impressive Roman ruins in North Africa.       Over 1200 years old, the city of Fez is a labyrinth of souks, mosques and spice filled streets. We delve into the fascinating history of the city with a full tour encompassing the outside of the Moulay Idrss mausoleum and Karouine Mosque, the Royal Palace, Nejjarine fountain and the Attarine or Bou Anania Medersaine, .After lunch we'll spend time confusing our senses in the cacophony of noise surrounding the heady alleyways of Fes's medieval medina, home to tanneries, dye pits, leather and carpet shops, alleys dedicated to all kinds of different crafts, tiny mosques and local restaurants. | OVERNIGHT: Fes hotel. | MEALS: Breakfast, Dinner. | EXTRAS: Full board supplement (Morocco on a Shoestring)
