Our journey to Essaouira will be via Chichawa village, Sidi El Mokhtar, Argan forest, where we can spot goats climbing Argan trees. We learn more about how Argan oil is extracted at a local ladies’ cooperative. We reach Essaouira at around 11:00 am, free time to visit the city. There are many places to visit, such as the fishing port of Essaouira, Skala Kasbah, which was a citadel in the times of war, and the Medina of Essaouira, which can be explored easily as the streets are aligned opposite to every other Medina street in Morocco, which look like a maze, and Walk down the beach—getting back to the van around 16:00 to drive back to Marrakech by early evening. Day 4 Marrakech – Boumalne Dades

Marrakech – Boumalne Dades

Pick up from your accommodation in Marrakech. We start by crossing the High Atlas Mountains, passing many charming Berber villages en route, and ascending to the highest peak of Tickha, where there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the stunning and picturesque views of the High Atlas Mountains range. We will visit the Telouet Kasbah, built in the 18th century. This magnificent stronghold was the residence of the influential Glaoui family, who played a significant role in Moroccan politics. We will also visit the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a famous 17th-century fortress classified by UNESCO, to preserve and protect this renowned site. Over the years, its fame built on its appearances in films such as Lawrence of Arabia, Jesus of Nazareth, Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, and Prince of Persia. You will have lunch at a restaurant near the Kasbah. The journey takes you past Skoura city, through the Valley of Roses towards Kalaat Megouna, and finally, entering Boumalne Dades, where you will have dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, our journey will be scenic toward the picturesque Todra Gorge in Tinghir. The awe-inspiring views of the gorge and its flowing river make it a sought-after destination for hikers. As you continue your journey, you'll pass through the desert towns of Erfoud and Rissani, each offering unique glimpses into the local culture and heritage. As the drive concludes at the edge of the desert, prepare for an extraordinary experience as you mount your camels or hop into the 4WD vehicle, venturing into the beautiful pink sands of Morocco's highest dunes. Take your time to wander and explore the dunes before settling down to witness the captivating sunset. Along the way, we pass Midelt, a bustling commercial center surrounded by a vast agricultural landscape. The journey also takes us through the Cedar forests, renowned for being a habitat for the unique sub-population of Barbary macaques known as Macaca Sylvanus. Our next stop is Ifrane, famous for its alpine-style architecture, nearby ski slopes, and pristine forests. As we continue our journey, you will be captivated by the iconic lion statue. By early evening, we will reach your accommodation in Fez.

You'll have some free time to explore the charming streets of Chefchaouen at your own pace. We start our day with breakfast and then drive to Rabat to visit two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Oudaya and Hassan Tower. The latter is a minaret of an incomplete mosque built in 1195 by the third Caliph of the Almohad Caliphate. We also visit the Mohammed V Mausoleum, which houses the tombs of three kings: Mohammad V, Hassan II, and Prince Abdallah. Our tour driver then takes us to Casablanca, where we visit Hassan II Mosque, completed in 1993 and considered the second-largest in Africa after the Algiers grand mosque and the 7th largest in the world. The mosque boasts the world's second-tallest minaret at 210 meters. We spend the night in Casablanca.
