    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Siem Reap

Breakfast at the hotel and visit the ancient capital of Angkor Thom (12th century): the South Gate with its huge statues depicting the churning of the Milky Ocean and the Bayon Temple, unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara, the Phimeanakas, the royal enclosure, the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. Visit the most famous of all the temples on the Angkor plain, Angkor Wat. The temple complex stretches over 81 hectares and is comparable in size to the Imperial Palace in Beijing. Its striking five towers can be seen on the Cambodian flag. The 12th century masterpiece is considered by art historians to be the best example of classical Khmer art and architecture.

In the afternoon you will visit Ta Prohm, one of the most beautiful temples in the area. Ta Prohm has remained relatively untouched since its discovery and has retained much of its mystery. If you have time and energy after visiting Ta Prohm, you can visit the Old Market and buy some souvenirs for friends and family.

  • Day 4 Siem Reap
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Siem Reap

In the morning you will be taken to Kompong Phluk (22 km from Siem Reap). This amazing floating village is built on 8 to 10 meter high stilts. The mangrove forest is home to hundreds of species of freshwater fish and birds. The villages are mainly inhabited by Khmer people and have a total of about 3000 inhabitants, most of whom live in stilt houses. The people are largely dependent on fishing and tourism for their income. You will travel on a traditional wooden boat through the flooded forests of the large Tonle Sap Lake, the habitat of many bird species.

In the afternoon, you will visit Wat Thmey, a monument to the Killing Fields of Siem Reap. It is located about 3 km from the center of Siem Reap on the exit road from Angkor. Continue to visit Satcha Handicraft Center, the first Cambodian handicraft center that promotes local artisans and combines traditional knowledge with modern design to showcase Cambodian talents to local and international visitors and pass on this know-how over time while creating sustainable social, economic and environmental impact.

  • Day 5 Siem Reap - Phnom Penh
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Siem Reap - Phnom Penh

After breakfast, you will travel (without a tour guide) to the capital Phnom Penh (with a group size of 2-4 people, the transfer will be by flight). Upon arrival in Phnom Penh, you will begin a half-day city tour that includes the Victory Monument and the National Museum (the Musee des Beaux-Arts). The museum contains a collection of Khmer art - especially sculptures - from all eras. You will also discover the Royal Palace, built in 1866 by King Norodom on the site of the old city, and the Silver Pagoda, located on the grounds of the Royal Palace. The Silver Pagoda is named after its floor, which is made of 5,000 silver tiles. Among the treasures inside are a solid gold Buddha weighing 90 kilograms and a small Buddha made of emerald and Baccarat crystal from the 17th century.

At the end of the day, make a stop at the Central Market and enjoy the view of the cityโ€™s tree-lined avenues at sunset (time permitting). Then head back to the hotel.

  • Day 6 Phnom Penh - Cu Chi - Saigon
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Phnom Penh - Cu Chi - Saigon

Early in the morning, at 5:00 am, transfer to Saigon via the Moc Bai (Bavet) border crossing. After immigration formalities at the border, drive to the tunnels of Cแปง Chi, a 31 km long, complex underground tunnel network from the Vietnam War. This was of great importance to the Vietcong in their resistance against the American forces and played an important role in North Vietnamโ€™s victory in the war. Arrival at your hotel in Saigon in the late afternoon.

  • Day 7 Saigon
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Saigon

Meet your tour guide at your hotel and go on a comprehensive city tour. Start with a visit to the War Victims Museum, which has an extensive collection of exhibits such as weapons, photos and documentation on Vietnamโ€™s wars with the French and Americans. Continue to the Reunification Palace, formerly the residence of the South Vietnamese president and a symbol of South Vietnamese rule until the end of April 1975.

In the afternoon, continue the tour and visit the Notre Dame Basilica, a neo-Romanesque cathedral built over 130 years ago by the French colonial rulers with materials imported entirely from Marseille. Visit Saigonโ€™s main post office, a beautiful colonial building designed and built in the early 20th century by the famous French architect Gustave Eiffel. Continue to Cho Lon or China Town, where you will visit the Jade Emperor Temple (Phuoc Hai), a rare Taoist structure in Vietnam, built in 1909 in honor of the Lord of Heaven.

You will have the opportunity to mingle with local farmers and learn the secrets of their bonsai gardening. In particular, you will learn how the locals go fishing with numerous fish traps and how they transport passengers and products by water. As you approach the floating market of Cai Rang, you can relive the selling activities of the past by trading consumer goods hanging from a traditional "offering pole" for fruits and vegetables from the Mekong with local vendors. To learn more about the lifestyle here, continue to the small bays called Rach Nho from where you can clearly see the southern countryside before heading back to Ninh Kieu Wharf.

Then transfer to Rach Gia and take the speedboat to Phu Quoc
