In general, the months of July and August are the best to travel to Western Canada, they are the driest, therefore, it is the best time to travel to Canada and visit this region.

The climate of the Vancouver area, on the west coast of Canada, is rainy and temperate. It almost never snows, except in the mountains. The maximum temperatures in summer are around 22° and in winter 7°. In Vancouver it rains almost half of the days in winter, but in summer it is much sunnier

Where does the experience begin? Will you pick me up at the airport or hotel?

The adventure begins in Calgary, where you will meet your guide and the rest of the group to set off the next day. Transfer from the airport to the hotel is included, you can see more specifications on day 1 of the itinerary. Are there any medical or vaccination requirements?

There are no mandatory vaccines; However, routine vaccinations are recommended, including the MMR vaccine (protects against measles, mumps, and rubella); the tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis vaccine and the chickenpox vaccine. Travelers must inform themselves and comply with the health rules in force in Canada at the time of their trip.

What happens if I get sick or injured on the trip and can't continue?

You will be attended to according to the seriousness of the matter, remember to carry travel insurance that includes medical expenses and trip cancellations.

What currency do you recommend I take? Where can I change?

The official currency of Canada is the Canadian dollar. All bills are the same size but different colors. There are bills of 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 dollars. The fractional currency is divided into: 5, 10 and 25 cents and 1 and 2 dollars. It is not customary for hotels to have a foreign currency exchange service. If you have to change currency, we advise you to do so at the bank or at the exchange offices located in the center of large cities. Sure! It is possible to travel alone but you must pay the 1-1 rate, thus having a single room throughout the tour. If you have any questions, you can contact our travel advisors or Costumer Happiness.

Which is the minimum age?

The minimum age required is 2 years and the maximum age allowed is 70 years. Check specific rates for minors in the extras section. Babies 0-1 year old can travel as a kitten if they travel with 2 responsible adults and share all services. It is not recommended as the transfers are long.

If I arrive a day early or leave a day later, where can I stay?

What is the average price of meals not included?

The price may vary depending on where you want to buy your food. You can find packaged ramen from $3 CAD to restaurant meals where on average you would spend $25 CAD.

What voltage is used, do I need an adapter?

The voltage is 120V; The entrance is the same as that used in Mexico. You don't need an adapter.

Will I be able to charge my electronic devices?

Yes, in the accommodation; However, we suggest you bring extra batteries and portable batteries.

What time can I arrive for day 1?

Day 1 is for arrival only, so you can arrive at any time, however check-in is available from 3pm.

You must leave the room at 12pm, our team will take you to the hotel at the indicated time to take your departure flight.

You need an average physical condition, since you will not do activities that are too physically demanding.

Do I need a visa to enter the country?

If you are Mexican, since December 2016 you do not need a visa to enter Canada as a tourist. However, you must process an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). Welcome to Calgary.
Arrival at Calgary International Airport (Calgary International Airport YYC), and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the afternoon is free.
The driver will wait for you 2 hours from the landing time. If you do not leave within that time, the driver must leave and the transfer will be considered a no-show.
If you have a flight change and do not arrive at the scheduled time, you must call the emergency number to report it 1-888-684-0662 (international) or 1-418-684-0662 (local). We will try to do everything possible to offer the service, without this being an obligation on the part of the operator at the destination. If you do not find our staff at the airport, you must take a taxi on your own to the hotel.
Arrival and departure transfer conditions:
- Arrival and departure transfers are included on day 1 of the itinerary.
- For passengers with additional nights arriving before the start day of the itinerary or staying at the end of the circuit, the transfer is included in the published price even if the pre- or post-circuit hotel is not booked with Local Adventures. Day 2 Calgary - Banff

After having breakfast at the hotel,
This morning you will begin your adventure through the impressive Rocky Mountains in Calgary.
You will have a brief orientation tour of the city of Calgary and you will depart towards Banff National Park, surrounded by the Rocky Mountains and forming a majestic ring.
You will visit the famous Banff Springs hotel of the Fairmont chain, Bow Falls and Tunnel Mountain.
In the afternoon/evening you will have free time to enjoy in your own way.
Optionally, you can take a gondola ride on the cable car in Banff: Ride to the top of Sulfur Mountain, to experience a panoramic view of six mountain ranges. A 360 degree view over the mountains surrounding Banff.

Day 3 Banff

After breakfast at the hotel, you will take the Bow Valley route until you reach Johnston Canyon, where you can take a short hike before reaching the prestigious Lake Louise area.
Lake Louise, with its turquoise waters and magnificent view of the Victoria Glacier, is considered one of the most spectacular places in the world.
You will continue to Moraine Lake and the Valley of the Ten Peaks and then enter Yoho National Park and visit Emerald Lake.
Then you will return to Banff to rest.
Optionally, you can take a scenic ride along the Bow River in Banff: You will descend 7 kilometers on an inflatable raft down the Bow River between the Rundle and Tunnel Mountains. You will enjoy the unique landscapes that can only be seen from the Bow River.

After breakfast, you will continue our journey towards Jasper, enjoying a spectacular view of the glaciers that will accompany you throughout the journey.
Along the way you'll see Crow's Foot Glacier, Bow Lake, and Athabasca Falls.
You will enter Jasper National Park, one of the largest accumulations of ice and snow south of the Arctic Pole. These accumulations form eight glaciers, one of the most impressive is the Athabasca Glacier, where you will take a “Snowcoach” ride (included).
You will next visit Maligne Canyon, considered among the most beautiful in the Rockies.
Optionally you can take the Jasper Tramway Cable Car ride: You will enjoy a ride at 2,277 meters high on the highest cable car in the Rockies. Once there, you will enjoy unique views over six mountain ranges, the Athabasca River and the town of Jasper.

You will pass the foot of Mount Robson, the highest mountain in the Rockies (3954m) and follow the route until you reach the Thompson Valley and the city of Kamloops.
Located at the confluence of the North and South Thompson Rivers, Kamloops is one of the warmest cities in Canada.

After breakfast you will depart for Vancouver. You will enter the Cariboo area, famous for the first colonies of gold prospectors. You will encounter the Fraser River, which you can observe until you reach Hope.
You will continue your path descending through wide valleys, until you reach the cosmopolitan city of Vancouver.
You will have a panoramic visit of the most important city in Western Canada that is characterized by the contrast between the sea, the mountains and its modern architecture.
You will tour Stanley Park, Chinatown, the historic Gastown neighborhood, and the financial and commercial center.
Optionally you can take the following activities:
FlyOver Canada: A flight simulation over Canada, where you will spend a few exciting minutes. This experience will make you take a little piece of Canada in your heart.
Granville Island Excursion with Capilano and Flyover Canada: Departure to Capilano Park where you will cross its famous suspension bridge.
