Itinerary of your trip 7 Day Rocky Mountain Camping Adventure

  • Day 1 To The Mountains!
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      To The Mountains!

We pick you up from the Marriott Downtown Hotel at 2 pm and blast out of town to the mountains just west of us.  The brilliance of our tour design becomes apparent as you watch all the locals heading back to Calgary, while our Sunday departure brings us to the mountains for the least crowded time!

We make a quick stop where you can buy alcohol or snacks, and then get to our campsite in time to set up camp, make dinner and relax around the campfire getting to know new friends and talking about the exciting adventures ahead.  Sleep soundly under a starlit sky and enjoy the pristine mountain air and tranquility.

  • Day 2 Land Of Ice And Rock
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Land Of Ice And Rock

Today we head into Jasper National Park and visit the Columbia Icefields, which is the largest icefield in the Rockies and home to 30 glaciers! Most people would walk to the base of the glacier, but youโ€™re not "most people" are you?? No!  We hike up Wilcox Pass to a ridge that looks out over the Athabasca Glacier with absolutely epic views and even more epic photo opportunities.

      • Wilcox Pass Hike- 10 km, 400 meters elevation, 3-4 hours.
  • Day 3 Into The Wild!
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Into The Wild!

Today is all about being away from crowds and on an absolutely beautiful hike.

Todayโ€™s hike is near your campsite with unbelievable views of dramatic mountains towering right above you.  Photo opportunities are endless as it seems the mountains could almost swallow you and sparkling lakes far below beckon with their emerald blue waters.  Spend the evening around a campfire and hanging out on the shore of the lake for sunset.

      • Moraine or Lake Louise hike- 14 km, 800 meters elevation, 5-6 hours
  • Day 4 Pioneers And Swiss Mountaineers
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Pioneers And Swiss Mountaineers

Pack up camp bright and early today as we explore deeper around Lake Louise and Moraine Lake.  Today you will either be hiking high above Moraine Lake, or Lake Louise.  Capture the incredible turquoise water of Moraine Lake in the ultimate selfie and see why this place is so famous!

We hike up to a distant alpine lake with towering mountains on either side, or along a ridge with a glacier perched right about you and a huge waterfall below.  Either one is pretty cool, so I think youโ€™ll have a nice time today!   We head to Yoho National Park where we set up camp along the shore of the Columbia River, next to the peaceful mountain town of Golden, British Columbia.

      • Plain of Six Glaciers- 14 km, 500 meters elevation, 5-6 hours
  • Day 5 In Awe In Yoho!
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      In Awe In Yoho!

Yoho is a Cree word meaning "Awe" and you are about to find out why!  We spend the day exploring Yoho National Park and trust me, this is one you donโ€™t want to miss.  First we head to the second tallest waterfall in Canada and if you want you can literally walk right under the falls, or at least get close enough for a pretty cool photo.  Next we hike up the Iceline Trail with stunning views of the waterfall far below.  Itโ€™s all so beautiful it looks fake.  Look up as we hike along the ridge and youโ€™ll be amazed by the massive glacier that is hanging on the mountain on a ridge right above us!  Itโ€™s so close you could almost touch it, and you can fill your bottle from the stream that rushes down from the glacier.  (We donโ€™t actually recommend this, but lots of people do it!) Just when you though the day couldnโ€™t get any better, you arrive at an alpine lake with views of the glacier and a picnic spread to enjoy.

      • Iceline Trail- 12 km, 500 m eters elevation, 5 hours
  • Day 6 Kicked By The Horse!
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Kicked By The Horse!

Find out why this place was named "Kicking Horse" as you get kicked by your own horse on the river.  Today you have the option to go rafting, or you can opt for another hike with your guide.  (We really recommend the rafting.  You will be on the same water that was Ice the day before while you were hiking.  Seriously.. it takes 16 hours for the ice to become water and rush down to where the rafting is! Pretty cool right?)

      • Rafting on Kicking Horse River (Optional- $160)
      • Paget Lookout Hike- 6 km, 450 meters elevation, 3 hours
  • Day 7 Last But Not Lost!
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Last But Not Lost!

Today we pack up and head towards Calgary but the fun isnโ€™t over yet!  We stop in Banff for a  soak in the hot springs and you can opt for some freetime to stroll around Banff if you behave in the morning and donโ€™t sleep in. :).

We have a quick picnic lunch and aim to have you dropped off in Calgary between 1:30 and 2:30 pm.

      See you next year!

      • 2 pm drop off in Banff or Calgary (anywhere)
