      Upon arrival to Cairo Airport you will be picked up and taken to your accommodation for check in. Get settled in as staff give you a brief introduction to the area and then enjoy the rest of the day doing as you wish and experiencing Cairo nightlife. Overnight in Cairo.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Cairo - Aswan, Egypt

      Cairo & Giza Tour - Overnight Train to Aswan (B/D)


      After breakfast you will begin your Cairo exploration with a local Egyptologist. First stop is the Egyptian Museum in central Cairo; packed with exciting exhibitions including Tutankhamun and other ancient Egyptian artifacts. Next you will move on to Giza to explore iconic Egyptian sites and monuments. You will visit the Sphinx and the three great Egyptian pyramids: the Great Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops) which stands at over 150m high, Khafre (Chephern) at 136m and Menkaure (Mycerinus) at 61m. You are sure to be impressed by these man-made structures of large stone blocks covered in limestone. You have the option of entering the pyramids without your guide (not included). After the day’s exploration you will be transferred to the train station in the evening for your overnight train to Aswan.

      Overnight Train Note: Accommodation in private twin-berthed cabin with two large seats, fold down beds with mattress, sheets, pillow, blanket, storage locker and wash basin. Meals on train are airplane style.

      Aswan Arrival, Nubian Village Tour, Philae Temple Tour & Aswan Dam Visit (B/L)


      You will be arriving to Aswan this morning and then transferred to your accommodation for check-in. Aswan is considered a melting pot of African and Middle Eastern cultures. Many descendants of the Nubian people still live here and today weโ€™ll visit a local Nubian village to see their colourful houses, simple way of life and to enjoy a traditional lunch. This afternoon board a boat for a scenic ride and a Philae Temple Tour. Philae is an island that features a unique temple, constructed during the Greco-Roman times, dedicated to the Egyptian Goddess Isis. Next, you will visit the famous Aswan Dam, an unbelievable engineering feat constructed in the 1960s. Overnight in Aswan.

      Felucca Nile Cruise (B/L/D)


      This morning you are free to explore the streets, markets and walk down the Corniche or go on an optional visit to UNESCO-listed Abu Simbel featuring the temples of Ramses II (for an extra cost). Later on, we will travel on a traditional Felucca sail boat at lunchtime and cruise through the Nile. Although there are no toilet facilities on board, you will be joined several times each day and at night by a support boat where a toilet and warm showers will be available. You will be spending the evening on the boat, so capture the moments and enjoy the views before dinner. Overnight on the boat.


      Note: You will sleep on the boat deck. You will be provided with mattress, blankets and mosquito nets but we suggest that you bring a sleeping sheet, blanket or light sleeping bag during winter months (November to February).

  • Day 5 Day 5: Aswan - Luxor, Egypt

      Edfu & Luxor Temple Visit (B)


      Have breakfast on the felucca and then continue discovering ancient Egypt. You will also visit Edfu, dedicated to Horus (the ancient Egyptian falcon God), it is the country’s oldest and best preserved temple. Dating from 200 BC, the temple took nearly 200 years to build! You will then continue north towards Luxor, in which a large majority of ancient ruins reside. To the west lies The City of the Dead which holds mortuary temples and tombs and to the east lies the Temples of Luxor and Karnak. This evening you will get a brief introduction to magic of Luxor with a walking tour of the small Luxor Temple. Overnight in Luxor.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Luxor, Egypt

      Luxor West Bank Tour (B)


      After breakfast, you will cross the Nile to take a tour of Luxor’s West Bank. Starting at the Valley of the Kings which holds the remains of some of the most important archeological sites such as Pharaonic tombs, Temples of Queen Hatchepsut, Valley of the Artisans Deir El-Medina, and Colossi Memnon. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon at your leisure. You can visit museums, markets, take felucca trips and many more things (not included)! Overnight in Luxor. After breakfast, you will cross the Nile to take a tour of Luxor’s West Bank, starting with the Valley of the Kings. Enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure.

  • Day 7 Day 7: Luxor - Cairo, Egypt

      Karnak Temple Visit & Overnight Train to Cairo (B/D)


      Have breakfast and enjoy a free morning. This afternoon you will visit Karnak, the religious centre of Thebes and Upper Egypt. You will be impressed by all the huge temple complex has to offer. Sphinxes; chapels dedicated to the Gods Amun, Khous and Mut; and the Hypostyle Hall with hieroglyphic inscriptions! Later, you will go to the train station for your sleeper train back to Cairo. Overnight on the train.

      Cairo Arrival, Khan-el-Khalili Bazaar, Al Guri Sufi Show (B)


      Upon arrival to Cairo you will be transferred to your accommodation for check-in. After some free time to relax or explore on your own, we will take a guided walk through the back streets and bazaars in central Cairo in the late afternoon. Weโ€™ll walk through the huge Bab al-Futuh gateway and explore streets dedicated to metalwork, spices, pottery, fabric, jewelery and anything else you can imagine as we gradually enter the more touristy Khan-el-Khalili Bazaar. Weโ€™ll have time for a break to try some tea and a shisha pipe and perhaps enjoy an early dinner of Egyptโ€™s unofficial national dish, Kushari.  Enjoy this delicious conclusion to your time in Egypt. Overnight in Cairo.
