      Welcome to Cairns, Australia. On arrival get transferred to the hotel. Today is a free day to explore the Cairns city. Cairns considered the gateway to Australiaโ€™s Great Barrier Reef, is a city in tropical Far North Queensland. Its Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park tells the stories of indigenous Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with music and dance. Cairns Esplanade, lined with bars and restaurants, has a swimming lagoon. Northwest of the city, Daintree National Park spans mountainous rainforest, gorges and beaches.       The day begins in Cairns at 8am, where weโ€™ll pick you up and make our way through the breath-taking scenery of Australiaโ€™s north coast. First, weโ€™ll stop off at Mossman Gorge, one of the regionโ€™s most memorable landmarks. Here, you can marvel at the surrounding rainforest and go for a refreshing swim in the cooling water. Afterwards, itโ€™s time for morning tea before we head over the Daintree River on a cable ferry. Weโ€™ll make our way to Cape Tribulation where you can take a stroll through the ancient Gondwana Rainforest and marvel at the views from the Alexandra Range Lookout. Next, weโ€™ll make our way to the Marrdja or Jindalba Boardwalk which is surrounded by huge, ancient trees and lush mangrove swamps. For lunch, weโ€™ll indulge in a picnic on the beautiful sands of Cape Tribulation Beach before taking a walk along the shoreline and learning more about the spot where rainforest meets reef. Weโ€™ll then make our way back to the Daintree River, stopping on the way to pick up a tropical ice cream to enjoy on the journey. In the afternoon, itโ€™s time for some crocodile spotting on the Daintree River. Weโ€™ll take a cruise along the estuary, where you can catch a glimpse of these magnificent creatures and learn more about their habitat. Weโ€™ll also keep an eye out for pythons, butterflies, and other native species on the cruise. Then itโ€™s time to head back. On the way, weโ€™ll stop off at the Rex Range Lookout before our final stop back in Cairns.       The day begins in Cairns, where youโ€™ll hop aboard your boat for the day at the Marlin Jetty. After that, weโ€™ll head out into the ocean, where you can marvel at the surreal turquoise colours and soak up the endless views of colourful reefs, islands, and vibrant marine life. By 10:15 am, weโ€™ll have arrived at our first outer reef destination, where you can try your hand at scuba diving. Youโ€™ll learn the ropes of exploring underwater, and youโ€™ll have the chance to learn more about the habitats of the creatures and their behaviour. If you donโ€™t fancy dipping below the waterโ€™s surface, you can take a swim, snorkel, or simply kick back and relax on the deck. For lunch, weโ€™ll tuck into a delicious tropical buffet served by a local chef as we make our way to the next destination. At 1 pm, weโ€™ll arrive at our next stop where you can do some more scuba diving, take a swim, enjoy the views, or relax in the afternoon sunshine. On the way home, you can try your hand at boom netting, a fun and exhilarating way to discover the reef before we tuck into some wine, cheese, and a selection of tropical fruits as we make our way back to Cairns. The day comes to a close at 5 pm as we arrive back at the Marlin Jetty.       Today we say goodbye to Cairns and fly to Sydney. On arrival get transferred to the hotel, rest and head out to catch a sunset view from Sydney Tower. Sydney, the capital of New South Wales and one of Australiaโ€™s largest cities, is best known for its harbourfront Sydney Opera House, with a distinctive sail-like design. Massive Darling Harbour and the smaller Circular Quay port are hubs of waterside life, with the arched Harbour Bridge and esteemed Royal Botanic Garden nearby. Sydney Towerโ€™s outdoor platform, the Skywalk, offers 360-degree views of the city and suburbs. From there, weโ€™ll show you some of Sydneyโ€™s eclectic culture, taking you to the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the Royal Botanical Gardens and Sydney Tower. You can explore the lush harbourside, too, at Darling Harbour, before we make a pitstop at Mrs. Macquarieโ€™s Chair to enjoy the city from above. There will be plenty of time to wander through the vibrant districts as well, where you can explore the affluent homes of the eastern suburbs, the trendy charm of Paddington, and the bustling streets of Chinatown. Then continue to the location of New Zealandโ€™s tallest mountain, Aoraki / Mount Cook, situated in a national park and UNESCO World Heritage site.       Return luxury coach transport from Queenstown to Milford Sound, with an extended two hour Nature Cruise along the full length of the fiord. On board a Real Journeys luxury glass-roofed coach in Queenstown, you will enjoy a relaxing trip along the shores of Lake Wakatipu and through the rolling countryside to Te Anau. The coach driver provides an informative commentary. After a morning tea break in Te Anau, where you have the option of purchasing refreshments, the coach continues along the spectacular Milford Road.       From Queenstown to Franz Josef discover the wild beauty of New Zealandโ€™s West Coast. Leaving Queenstown, travel by luxury coach through the stunning scenery of the South Island. Your driver guide will provide entertaining commentary and point out sites of interest as you pass by the crystal-clear waters of Lake Dunstan, Lake Wanaka and Lake Hawea. After a morning tea break in Makarora on the border of Mount Aspiring World Heritage Park, youโ€™ll travel through the Haast Pass, journeying through native beech forest and over the Southern Alps, before emerging on the West Coast. This remote area has a ruggedly beautiful landscape of vast rainforests, gushing waterfalls and snow-capped mountains. Skirt the coast and see waves crashing on rocky beaches before returning inland. Before arriving in the afternoon at the small village of Franz Josef. From here you can explore the world famous Franz Josef Glacier. You will be met at your accommodation by a representative from Glacier Shuttles and taken on a short tour to view the glacier. Your shuttle vehicle will transfer you up the Franz Josef valley to the road end. Here you will have the opportunity to walk to view the glacier from a viewing platform.       This morning travel north through the small townships of Whataroa and Harihari. Stop at the Bushmanโ€™s Centre for refreshments and a chance to experience a bit of West Coast humour. Continue through the township of Ross, which in the late 1800s was the centre of one of New Zealandโ€™s richest alluvial goldfields. In 1903 the largest gold nugget ever found in New Zealand was discovered at Jones Creek, not far from the town centre. It weighed 2807 grams. The New Zealand Government later purchased the nugget and presented it as a coronation gift to King George V. On arrival in Hokitika there is time to purchase lunch and explore the town centre. Hokitika is the administrative and commercial centre for this part of Westland. The major primary industry is timber milling. Dairy and sheep farming, commercial fishing, white baiting and eel processing being the other major industries. Continue onto Greymouth Railway Station from where you catch the world famous TranzAlpine train across the Southern Alps to Christchurch. Considered one of the worldโ€™s great train journeys, the TranzAlpine Scenic Train takes you from Greymouth to Christchurch. Youโ€™ll travel across the South Island from the west to the east coast through Arthurโ€™s Pass National Park. From the comfort of your carriage see lush beech forest, deep river valleys and the spectacular peaks of the Southern Alps. Descend to the windswept Canterbury Plains before arriving in the city of Christchurch. NOTE: Your TranzAlpine train departs Greymouth Train Station at 14:05. Please check-in at least 20 minutes before departure by presenting your reference number to the ticket office. You will receive your boarding pass and your suitcases (large bags) will be checked in.
