      Start your trip into Bhutan and get ready for a fun day ahead. First, youโ€™ll go to the airport and take Bhutanโ€™s national airline, to get to Paro. As you soar through the sky, if the weather permits, get ready to be amazed by the majestic Himalayan hills covered in snow.Upon arrival at Paro Airport, your guide and driver will warmly welcome you. The scenic drive to Thimphu, Bhutanโ€™s capital, takes approximately an hour, passing through Chuzom where the Paro and Thimphu rivers convergeโ€”a significant spot in Bhutanese culture, perfect for capturing memorable photographs. On your way to Thimphu, visit Simtokha Dzong, also known as "Sangkak Zabdhon Phodrang." Built in 1629 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, itโ€™s believed to be Bhutanโ€™s first dzong. Simtokha Dzong serves as both a monastic and administrative center, with its name derived from its historical role in protecting against vanquished demons. Upon arrival in Thimphu, check into your hotel and relax. After a busy first day, savor a delightful dinner at your hotel, eagerly anticipating the adventures ahead in the Land of the Thunder Dragon

      Sightseeing In Thimphu

      On the second day, spend the whole day learning about Bhutanโ€™s culture in its lively city. Start the day with a hearty breakfast at your hotel in Thimphu. Then, go on a trip through the heart of Bhutanese arts and cultures. Start by visiting the Handicrafts Emporium, which is run by the government, and other local craft shops. These are great places to see the wide range of Bhutanese arts and crafts. Look at textiles that were knitted by hand, Thangkha paintings, masks, ceramics, jewelry, jewelry made from slate and wood, and other one-of-a-kind items made from materials found in the area. Go to the Painting School (Zorig Chusum) next. This is where Bhutanese traditional art is carefully kept alive and passed down from generation to generation. 

      Continue your journey through culture at the Traditional Medicine Institute, where you can learn about Bhutanese medicine by watching old ways of making traditional medicines. And a trip to a Bhutanese paper plant lets you see how old-fashioned paper is made, which is an important part of Bhutanโ€™s culture. later you Check out the Folk Heritage Museum, which shows Bhutanese material culture and traditional ways of life through displays of artifacts, tools, and everyday things used in Bhutanese homes. The National Textile Museum has a beautiful collection of Bhutanese textiles with complex patterns and designs that are important to Bhutanese culture. You can learn more about weaving there. Finish your day by going to the Takin Sanctuary, which is dedicated to Bhutanโ€™s national animal, the Takin. In Bhutanese legends, the Takin is praised for having traits of both cows and goats. In the late afternoon, visit the magnificent Takin Sanctuary, which is one of the most amazing buildings in Bhutan. Its beautiful architecture and peaceful settings make for a great way to end a day of learning about culture.

      After an early breakfast at your hotel in Thimphu on the third day, you will go on an exciting day trip to Punakha, which is famous for its historic Punakha Dzong and other cultural treasures. The scenic drive to Punakha takes about three hours, with stops at several intriguing places:

      Dochula Pass: About 30 kilometers from Thimphu, Dochula Pass offers a stunning view of the Himalayan mountain range in all directions, especially on clear winter days. With their 108 Chortens (stupas), these buildings were built by the Queen Mother to remember the Bhutanese soldiers who died in a war against Indian rebels in 2003.

      Bhutanโ€™s Chimi Lhakhang: also called the "Temple of Fertility," is a holy monastery in the Punakha area. It is dedicated to Drukpa Kunley, the Divine Madman, who was known for teaching in strange ways. Pilgrims go there to get fertility blessings and get phallic symbols that they think will bring them luck.

      Punakha Dzong: The "Palace of Great Happiness," is a Bhutanese castle monastery. At the junction of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers, it is famous for its architecture and history. This majestic edifice holds significant Bhutanese royal occasions and is Punakhaโ€™s administrative and monastic center.

      The National Museum of Bhutan will be your first stop after traveling from Punakha to Paro, (143 kilometers and 4.5 to 5 hours). The museum displays Bhutanโ€™s cultural and historical relics in Ta-Dzong, a circular edifice that was once a watchtower atop Paro Dzong.

      Visit Paro Dzong also known as Ringpung Dzong (โ€™Fortress atop a Heap of Jewelsโ€™). Itโ€™s one of Bhutanโ€™s most famous and well-preserved dzongs due to its outstanding architecture. Relax and observe its architecture and history. After visiting the museum and dzong, relax in Paro. Enjoy the town, shop, and eat local food. Relax in your Paro hotel after the day."

      A wonderful climb to Taktsang Monastery, the "Tigerโ€™s Nest," and an archery lesson await on the fifth day in Paro. Enjoy a delicious breakfast at your Paro hotel. The arduous yet rewarding walk to Taktsang Monastery is the dayโ€™s highlight. The walk winds through a thick woodland with stunning Paro Valley vistas. The 4-mile round-trip climb to 9,184 feet above sea level tests physical and spiritual stamina. A revered pilgrimage site in Bhutan, the monastery appears to cling to the cliffside 3,000 feet above the valley level. Guru Rinpoche, or Padmasambhava, supposedly traveled here on a tiger to teach Buddhism to Bhutan. You can climb to the monastery or stop at a cafeteria two hours in before returning.

      Exploring Tigerโ€™s Nest: In the afternoon, experience the monasteryโ€™s spirituality. Explore the complexโ€™s temples and meditation caves. Learn about this precious siteโ€™s rich history from your experienced companion.

      Bhutanโ€™s national sport and cultural gem, archery, is offered in the evening. Try traditional Bhutanese archery and experience the localsโ€™ love of this ancient sport. Local specialists will teach you and let you practice archery. After archery, enjoy a well-deserved dinner at your Paro hotel or a local restaurant to end a memorable day in Bhutan.
