  • Day 1 Day 1: Arrival In Kathmandu Transfer To Hotel.

      A representative from Sherpa Expedition & Trekking will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotels in Thamel โ€“ the tourist hub of Kathmandu. At the hotel, your guide will go over the details of your eight-day trip in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Lumbini and Chitwan.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing.

      Day 2: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing.

      We will spend the day sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley with our guide. We will visit Pashupatinath, which is considered the holiest Hindu temple in Nepal and where pilgrims worship Lord Shiva (situated on the banks of the holy Bagmati River), Bouddhanath, a Buddhist temple known as โ€˜Little Tibetโ€™ and then on to Swayambhunath known as the Monkey Temple. From Swayambhunath we drive to Kathmanduโ€™s famous Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed site, and located in front of the old royal palace. We will also visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square. After the tour of Kathmandu Valley, you will be taken back to your hotels in Thamel where you can browse the shops or relax over a coffee in one of the many cafes. 

  • Day 3 Day 3: Drive From Kathmandu To Pokhara.

      This morning we will head out on our road trip to Pokhara. On the way, you can sit back and look at the scenery including terraced farmland, rivers, and views of several mountain peaks. We will take time to stop in several local villages and wander around. We will stop along the route for a meal break. This evening we have arranged a traditional Nepalese dinner. Tonight we will stay at a hotel near the lake in Pokhara. 

  • Day 4 Day 4: Pokhara Valley Sightseeing.

      This morning we begin with a tour by the private vehicle of Pokhara. From Pokhara, you can see the Annapurna Ranges in the distance and best seen in the clear morning light. There are eight mountains that appear so close when viewed at sunrise. You will be able to identify Mt. Machapuchare (Fish Tail) in the distance. Our next stop is Deviโ€™s Falls just two kilometers from Pokhara. The water plummets directly down into a narrow passage and is considered a risky place to swim. A tourist by the name of David drowned here, hence it also being referred to as David Falls. We will then head back to Phewa Tal where you can take a boat trip along the 1.5-kilometer lake. At one end of the lake is the Seti Gandaki River. If you donโ€™t suffer from claustrophobia and a fear of bats, then a visit to Bat Cave is interesting. We will stay overnight in Pokhara. 

  • Day 5 Day 5: Drive To Pokhara To Lumbini.

      This morning we head to Lumbini and after our arrival will have time to visit several famous archeological sites and see the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama โ€“ the Buddha. A visit to the museum will also explain the Buddhist faith and its history dating back to his birth in 563 BC. Tonight we will stay in a hotel in Lumbini.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Explore Lumbini (Buddha Birth Place).

      Today is free for you to wander around and discover the other places of interest in Lumbini, such as Puskarni pond, Ashoka statue and nativity sculpture. Lumbini is listed as a World Heritage site and also features a crane sanctuary, peace meditation center, Lumbini Research Center, international monasteries and peace stupa. You will stay overnight here in a hotel.

  • Day 7 Day 7: Drive From Lumbini To Chitwan.

      Day 7: Drive From Lumbini To Chitwan.

      Today we head out on a seven-hour road trip to Chitwan. On arrival, we will plan our activities then have lunch at our hotel. After lunch, we will take an elephant safari through Chitwan National Park. From high on the elephantโ€™s back, you will have a great view of the fauna and wildlife. You may be lucky and see one-horned rhino, several species of deer and monkeys, as well as wild boar, bison, and possibly a snow leopard. The sighting of a Royal Bengal Tiger will certainly be an eye-opener. We will then head back to our hotel in Chitwan for dinner.

  • Day 8 Day 8: Jungle Activities In Chitwan National Park.

      Day 8: Jungle Activities In Chitwan National Park.

      This morning we will take a dugout canoe trip on the Rapti River inside the National Park. On this canoe trip, you will see crocodiles on the riverbanks, many bird species, and wildlife as they come to the river to drink. The next stop is the Elephant Breeding Centre which is just 10 minutes walk from the canoe departure point. Here you will learn about their feeding habits and how they care for their young. Next, we will visit some Tharu Villages near the park. They are indigenous people of the Terai district and have a very unique culture and position in Nepalese society. The Tharu people have large extended families and it is not uncommon for 25 to 120 people living under one roof. They also have their own language. They are farming people who make the most of the materials available locally. As they day comes to an end we may sit on some comfortable chairs on the riverbank with a drink in your hand as the sun sets. Tonight we will stay in a hotel here.

  • Day 9 Day 9: Drive Back To Kathmandu.

      Day 9: Drive Back To Kathmandu.

      This morning we head back on a 120-kilometer six-hour trip back to Kathmandu. On the way, you will have some great views of the Trishuli River. The bus will stop in Maluku for a break and where there is a local market. After arriving back in Kathmandu you will have free time for some final shopping or to maybe sit back in a cafรฉ and catch up on some emails to friends. Tonight we have organized a farewell dinner at a typical Nepali restaurant. Tonight you will stay at your hotel in Thamel.

  • Day 10 Day 10: Transfer To The International Airport For Your Final Departure.

      Today is the day you say goodbye to this diverse country. A representative from Sherpa Expedition & Trekking will take you to the airport at least three hours prior to your departure. We hope to see you again for another adventure into this mountainous country.
