Belize Between Two Worlds - 9 Days

Arrival at the International Airport - Mountain Pine Ridge - You will be met at the Phillip Goldson International Airport and transferred to San Ignacio. Overnight at a acommodation.

Snail - The excursion will depart from the Lodge at approximately 7:30 am to take you to the largest archaeological site in Belize, Snail. We head to the Río Frío Cave, where stalagmites and stalactites form a mysterious backdrop to this ancient Mayan place of worship. Leaving the caves, you will be taken to Rio On Pools, where you can rest and relax in natural pools. After a full day of walking and relaxation, you will return to the accommodation.

Located about 30 minutes from the town of San Ignacio, where you will make a 50-minute walk through the Tapir Mountain Nature Reserve (Plain Trail). You will cross 3 streams during the 50 minute walk. The water level is almost knee deep. Once at the entrance of the cave, you will be asked to swim towards the 15 foot entrance. in length and about 15 feet deep. We will continue walking through a collapse that is a maze of rocks that fell from the ceiling. Here we will go through a tunnel with water at the height from the waist and ceiling to one foot above your head. We will continue for the next 1/2 hours with the water level that varies from the ankle to the deep chest. The ceiling would be about 30 feet above your head. Water temperature. 70 degrees Fahrenheit. After 1/2 hrs. we will be walking leaving the river on a slope of about 40 feet. High to reach the main chamber. Here we will spend 2 hours looking at the artifacts, human remains, and beautiful formations. At the end of the chamber we will return the same path we took. Overnight at the accommodation.
