You will walk around the Tiananmen Square for a while and then go across Chang'an Avenue to the well-preserved Forbidden City. As one of the world's largest imperial palace, Forbidden City is said to have more than 9,000 houses and over one million cultural relics. While you are walking on the flat stone path, your guide will also provide information and interesting stories of the palace's history and culture.  In the afternoon, visit the Yonghe Temple first. It was once the mansion of a prince during the Qing Dynasty (1644 – 1911 AD) but later it became the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Beijing. Then turn to another imperial site, the Temple of Heaven, which is considered the dwelling of heaven in ancient times and mainly used for emperors to pray for harvests. Besides appreciating the beautiful architecture, you can also see many retired locals exercising or entertaining in the surrounding park. Meals: Western buffet breakfast

Today's highlight is to visit Mutianyu Great Wall. The round-trip cable car is included. Lunch is on your own arrangement and your guide will also show you some restaurants. In the afternoon, we will drive you back to downtown and have a photo stop at the Olympic National Stadium (Bird's Nest). You will see its splendid appearance at a distance. At last, we will go to experience Beijing's old customs and authentic cultures at Hutongs, a particular expression in Beijing meaning old alleys or lanes. Visiting by a traditional rickshaw, you will have a chance to dive deep into local people’s daily life. A special home visit to a local family will add more fun to your Beijing trip.
