  • Day 1 Camp On The Great Wall Of China

      Camp On The Great Wall Of China

      Your Beijing to Shanghai tour kicks off today! In the late morning, youโ€™ll rendezvous with your Adventure Leader, and the adventure begins with one of the most incredible experiences you can have โ€“ an overnight stay on the Great Wall of China! Before you lace up your hiking boots, youโ€™ll pause for a hearty lunch at a local farm to fuel up for the hike. Then, in the mid-afternoon, youโ€™ll embark on a hike along totally secluded and unrestored sections of the Wall. Here, youโ€™ll set up camp and witness the breathtaking sunset from atop one of the Wonders of the World.


      Please note: Depending on the weather, if your tour takes place before the end of April or after the end of September, you will stay in a guesthouse near the Wall instead of camping.

  • Day 2 See The Highlights Of Beijing

      See The Highlights Of Beijing

      Wake up early to watch the magnificent sunrise across the Great Wall of China. Once youโ€™ve picked your jaw off the floor, weโ€™ll pack up and head back into Beijing, ready to explore this mammoth city. If youโ€™d like, you can join us with a walk through Tiananmen Square, a visit to the Forbidden City, and a look around Jingshan Park.  


      This evening, why not get an entertainment fill with an acrobatics show? These amazing circus-like performances feature young talents recruited from all over China.  


      If youโ€™ve worked up an appetite, now is your chance to make like ancient royalty and try Beijingโ€™s signature dish โ€“ Peking duck!  

  • Day 3 Free Day In Beijing

      Today is a free day! Youโ€™ll have the option to visit the fake good markets for a spot of shopping, as well as the nearby Temple of Heaven. 


      In the afternoon, you can visit the Nanluo district. Nanluo is one of the best-preserved historical areas in Beijing thatโ€™s famous for its hutongs and siheyuan courtyards, as well as the bars, cafes and handicraft shops. 

  • Day 4 Travel To Hangzhou

      Travel To Hangzhou

      Make the most of your free morning and afternoon in Beijing by exploring some of the cityโ€™s iconic attractions. You can consider visiting the 798 Art District, known for its contemporary art galleries and exhibitions. Alternatively, you may want to explore the Summer Palace, a beautiful imperial garden and palace complex that offers a glimpse into Chinaโ€™s history.


      If youโ€™re looking for recommendations or guidance on where to go, donโ€™t hesitate to ask your Adventure Leader for suggestions.


      In the late afternoon or early evening, itโ€™s time to make your way to Beijing station, where youโ€™ll board a night train bound for Hangzhou, your next destination on the tour. Get ready for the adventure ahead!

  • Day 5 West Lake Sunset Boat Trip

      After arriving in Hangzhou this morning, transfer to your hostel for a late breakfast. We hope you slept on the train! Next, weโ€™re off to the famous West Lake, ready to take a stunning boat tour to one of the Lakeโ€™s beautiful islands.  


      Once youโ€™ve checked in this afternoon, youโ€™ve got time for an optional activity if youโ€™d like โ€“ or you can take a couple of hours respite! If youโ€™re keen to stay vertical, why not check out Chinaโ€™s National Tea Museum, or the Lingyin Temple? 


      This evening, itโ€™s an unmissable hike up Jiuyao Mountain to see the stunning sunset from there. Before you head back down to street level for dinner and a free evening to explore. Make sure you check out Hefang Road โ€“ the most famous ancient street in town!

      In the afternoon, your adventure continues as you head to your next destination on the China backpacking tour: Shanghai! Youโ€™ll arrive in the early evening, giving you ample time to check in at your accommodation and explore the local area. Get ready to uncover the wonders of Shanghai!

      ollowing a leisurely morning, youโ€™ll embark on another Mandarin lesson with a special twist. This unique class will be led by professional teachers from the Mandarin Garden Chinese Language School, offering you valuable insights into the Chinese language.


      Later, youโ€™ll have the option to stroll to the Yu Gardens, a bustling historical site once belonging to a dignitaryโ€™s opulent family. From there, explore Peopleโ€™s Square and make your way to the worldโ€™s busiest shopping street, Nanjing Road.


      Afterward, take a scenic walk along the Bund, an area renowned for its global architectural marvels. To conclude your day, head to the top floor of a skyscraper and relish the opportunity to admire Shanghaiโ€™s breathtaking skyline from a rooftop bar.

      Today, you have the opportunity to explore the vibrant city of Shanghai at your own pace. Your Adventure Leader can provide valuable recommendations and tips for your day.


      Here are a few options to consider:

      • Disneyland Shanghai: Experience the magic of Disney at Shanghaiโ€™s Disneyland theme park.
      • The Shanghai Museum: Discover the rich history and culture of China through a visit to the Shanghai Museum.
      • Moganshan Art Street: Explore the creative and artistic atmosphere of Moganshan Art Street, known for its galleries and studios.
      • Zhujiajiao Watertown: Immerse yourself in the charm of Zhujiajiao Watertown, known for its picturesque canals and historic architecture.

      In the evening, you can choose to enjoy a night on the town with your fellow Dragons, creating unforgettable memories during your Shanghai adventure.

      In the morning, you have the option to stroll through the former French Concession to learn about Shanghaiโ€™s international history, visit the Propaganda History Museum, and take in the sights of the ultra-modern Shanghai financial district. You can also visit TianZiFang โ€“ a local artisanโ€™s lane that blends the chic and the traditional. 


      For the daredevils, you can head up to the top of Jinmao Tower and brave the Skywalk! Or, you can just go up and take in the stunning panoramic views. 


      In the evening, youโ€™ll take in the bright city lights from the water with a night cruise down the Huangpu River
