Upon your arrival at the airport our guide will be waiting for you at the exit, holding a welcome board with your name on it. We will escort you to downtown Bangkok to check in at our well selected hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to take a rest at the hotel. Dinner is by your own arrangement, but you can get some advice from our local guide. Bangkok is called the City of Angel by the Thais. It is the largest city on the Indo-China Peninsula. You may explore the city on your own first and then get ready for this 4 days Ayutthaya tour from Bangkok. Accommodation: Movenpick Bangkok Sukhumvit 15 (4 stars) or similar

      Day 2: Bangkok

After breakfast at the hotel, we will start the visit at Wat Pho, with its massive Reclining Buddha. Meanwhile, we'll watch the monks perform their morning chanting ritual which starts at 9am. Then we will transfer you to the spectacular Grand Palace, a must visit place on your Bangkok trip. The Palace complex is in the same grounds as Wat Phra Kaew, the most important temple in Thailand. After lunch, we will board a private long-tail boat cruising on the peaceful Klong Bang Luang. Pass by shop houses, local temples and vendors on this waterway which was once a major trading route and lined with impressive homes of aristocrats. After observing this lively area, the boat stops at Baan Silapin, a 100-year old renovated house, now home to an art gallery. Here, stop for up to two hours to enjoy the gallery, take part in an art workshop or explore the local community, before experiencing a unique puppet show performed by puppeteers trained under the Joe Louis School of puppetry (no guaranteed puppet show). En route back to the city, we will stop to visit the Temple of Dawn - Wat Arun, arriving back early afternoon. Day 3: Bangkok - Ayutthaya - Bangkok

Today we will escape hectic Bangkok. In the morning our guide and driver will meet you at the lobby of your hotel and then drive for 1.5 hours north out of Bangkok to the city of Ayutthaya, the ancient capital of Siam for 417 years, to start our Ayutthaya day trip from Bangkok. It is said that Ayutthaya was one of the most beautiful cities in the world in its time. Visit the Wat Yai Chaimongkol and Wat Mahathat (where the Buddha face is naturally emerged out of the tree). Then stroll through a local market to get to Wat Phra Srisanphet. Proceed on a trip to the town's Muslim Quarter which offers the opportunity to sample an unusual local delicacy, candy floss roti. In the afternoon, we will travel back to Bangkok about 3 hours by taking the luxurious, air-conditioned cruiser, the Grand Pearl on the Chao Phraya River. Enjoy a superb buffet lunch onboard while witnessing rural life and Thai buildings during Chao Phraya River cruise. Towards the late afternoon, our guide and driver will transfer you back to your hotel from the pier. (A Sit-in-coach Ayutthaya day tour from Bangkok is available upon request.)
