  • Day 2 Day 2: Bangkok

      We will start with a trip to Wat Pho to witness the morning chants and admire the famed reclining Buddha image. Continues to the nearby Grand Palace, which has served as the seat of Thailand's revered Royal family for more than two centuries. Visit the Emerald Buddha, the most revered Buddhist image in Thailand. Note: Appropriate dress is required (or can be rented on site). Lunch at the local restaurant. In the afternoon, travel to the Chao Phraya River and board a private longtail boat for a ride along Bangkok's ancient canals. Pass by shop houses, temples, and residences designed in a range of architectural styles. The boat emerges at Baan Silapin, a 100-year-old house that has been renovated and transformed into an art gallery. Spend time browsing the works of art on display and learn about Thailandโ€™s modern arts scene. Return to the boat late afternoon and cruise back toward town. Make a stop at Wat Arun, the โ€˜Temple of Dawnโ€™, for the dayโ€™s final visit then travel onwards to the hotel.
